Xhelal Bey Zogu
Prince Xhelal Zogu, born Xhelal Bey Zogolli (14 May 1881 in Castle Burgajet, Ottoman Empire – 26 February 1944 in Turkey) was scion of the House of Zogu, half-brother of Zog of Albania. Biography He was born in Castle Burgajet to Xhemal Pasha Zogu ( 1860–1911) and Melek Zogu (1860–1884). As Xhemal's eldest son, Zogu was expected to be selected over his half-brother Zog of Albania to lead the family and to inherit his hereditary responsibilities as Governor of Mati; however, for unknown reasons, he was passed over. Prince Xhelal's "Bey" title derives from the Turkish title applied to leaders or rulers during the Ottoman Empire with variations including Beyg, Begum, Bygjymi. Prince Xhelal Bey Zogu was a lawyer. Xhelal Deliallisi
Xhemal Deliallisi (1880 - 1941) was a prominent figure of the 19th century in the Shijak area of Albania. He was one of 40 signatories of the Albanian Declaration of Independence alongside his cousin Ymer Deliallisi. His tribe was one of the most influential in the area of central Albania where is his father, Sali bey Deliallisi, is thought to have been the founder of the modern city of Shijak. Life Xhemal Deliallisi was born in 1880 in Shijak. His father Sali bey Deliallisi is thought to have been the founder of the modern city located along the Erzen River, near Durrës. He received his first lessons in the school of his hometown. He knew several foreign languages, such as Persian, Ottoman and Italian. Xhelal Pasha Zogolli
Xhelal Pasha Zogolli was hereditary governor of Mat District, Mati, father of Xhemal Pasha Zogu and grandfather of Zog I of Albania, King Zog I. Life Xhelal Pasha Zogolli was educated privately. He served in the Montenegrin–Ottoman War (1852–53), Montenegrin War of 1852-53. Later he visited Russia and inspired by Russians he attempted a local rebellion against Ottoman rule after his return which was unsuccessful because of the low participation. He married Ruqiya Khanum [Ruhijé Hanem], from the wealthy Alltuni family of Kavajë. He died apparently poisoned by Ottoman agents at Vienna, Austria, even though this claim is not yet proven. He was buried in Haji Badem Uskanda, Istanbul, Turkey.
