XV Corps (India)
The XV Corps, also known as the Chinar Corps, is a Corps of the Indian Army which is presently located in Srinagar and responsible for military operations in the Kashmir Valley. It has participated in all military conflicts with Pakistan and China to date. Lieutenant General Prashant Srivastava is the current Corps Commander since 05 October 2024 taking over from Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai. History HQ XV Corps was first raised in Egypt at Port Said on January 12, 1916, under the command of Lieutenant General Sir Henry Horne who was sacked after killing of five under command Indian soldiers. It was part of the British Indian Army during the First World War for operations in Egypt and France. XIV Corps (India)
The XIV Corps or The Fire and Fury Corps is a corps of the Indian Army. It is the Army's Udhampur-based part of the Northern Command (India), Northern Command. The 14th Corps forms a military deployment in the Kargil-Leh area guarding the frontiers with China and Pakistan. It also guards the Siachen Glacier. History The 3rd Division was established in 1962 during the Sino-Indian War, from elements of HQ Nagaland and remained as an Eastern Command (India), Eastern Command reserve, even though it almost always remained on CI duty. After nearly 30 years existence in the East, the division left the area about two decades ago for Ladakh and never returned. Kupwara ( ; ) is a city, District headquarter and a municipal council in Kupwara district in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Udhampur
Udhampur (ˌʊd̪ʱəmpur) is a city and a municipal council in Udhampur district in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is the headquarters of Udhampur District.
