XHTRES-TDT (channel 10) was a television station in Mexico City. From 2006 to 2015, it was the flagship station of the now defunct network cadenatres and from 2013 to 2020, it was the flagship of the Excélsior TV news network. It was licensed to Compañía Internacional de Radio y Televisión, S.A. (CIRT), which is owned by Grupo Empresarial Ángeles (GEA), a company headed by Olegario Vázquez Raña and directed by Olegario Vázquez Aldir, through its Grupo Imagen communications unit. Cadenatres
Cadenatres was a Mexican free-to-air network owned by Grupo Empresarial Ángeles (GEA), a company headed by Olegario Vázquez Raña and directed by Olegario Vázquez Aldir. Originally started by its flagship XHTRES in Mexico City as an independent terrestrial television station serving the Federal District and the Valley of Mexico, it later expanded coverage throughout the entire country through various subscription television systems and a handful of free-to-air affiliates. It is branded as and available over the air in much of Mexico on TV Azteca's transmitters. Programming generally consists of news and informational shows. Grupo Empresarial Ángeles (GEA) is a Mexican corporation owned by Olegario Vázquez Raña and founded in 1998. It owns assets in the communications, healthcare, tourism and financial services industries. Its director general is Olegario Vázquez Aldir. Grupo Imagen S.A.B. de C.V., commonly known as Imagen, is a Mexican media conglomerate owned by Grupo Empresarial Ángeles. XEDA-FM is a radio station in Mexico City owned by Grupo Imagen. XEDA-FM is the flagship station of the Imagen Radio news/talk network which is available to other Mexican cities through Imagen's owned-and-operated stations and affiliates. Imagen Televisión is a national broadcast television network in Mexico, owned by Grupo Imagen. It launched on October 17, 2016, at 8 p.m. History Imagen on television In 2006, Imagen's parent, Grupo Empresarial Ángeles, acquired XHRAE-TV channel 28 in Mexico City from its previous owner, beleaguered businessman Raúl Aréchiga Espinoza, for US$126 million. The Televisa Law (Spanish: ''Ley Televisa'') is the name given by the press to the Federal Law of Radio and Television (Spanish: Ley Federal de Radio y Televisión or LFRTV), a controversial law approved by the Congress of Mexico in 2006, shortly before the presidential election.
