Torreón
Torreón () is a city and seat of Torreón Municipality in the Mexico, Mexican States of Mexico, state of Coahuila. The city's population is 720,848 inhabitants, making it the second largest city in the state of Coahuila. Also Torreón is part of the Comarca Lagunera metropolitan area. Comarca Lagunera
The Comarca Lagunera or La Comarca de la Laguna ("region of lagoons") is a region of northern Mexico occupying large portions of the states of Durango and Coahuila, with rich soils produced by periodic flooding of the Nazas_River, Nazas and Aguanaval_River, Aguanaval rivers. Neither river drains into either the Pacific Ocean or the Gulf of Mexico, but rather they created Bolsón_de_Mapimí, a series of inland lakes. The region was developed for large-scale irrigated cotton agriculture. During the Mexican Revolution, the region was the site of fierce fighting. Following the military phase of the Revolution, the region was part of the Land reform in Mexico#Cardenista land reform 1934 to 1940, agrarian reform under President Lázaro Cárdenas. The dam named for Cárdenas now controls flooding of the rivers, but the groundwater resources are no longer recharged as a result. It is the 8th largest metropolitan area in Mexico. XHEN-FM is a radio station on 100.3 FM in Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico. The station is owned by Grupo Imagen and carries its Imagen Radio news/talk format. History XHEN received its concession on August 31, 1990. It was awarded to the successors of Emilio Nassar Hamze, whose initials are enshrined in its call sign. Nassar had been the ex-president of CIRT, the Mexican National Chamber of the Radio and Television Industry, and so was his son, Emilio Nassar Rodríguez. The family's Multimundo station group also owned three stations in Guanajuato and Querétaro: XHMIG-FM, XHOZ-FM, and XHOE-FM.
