XHMH-TDT
XHMH-TDT is a television station in Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico. It broadcasts on virtual channel 13 and currently carries Multimedios Televisión programming. History XHMH-TV received its concession on June 16, 1977. It was owned by Pedro Meneses Hoyos, who was part of a pioneering family in Chihuahua broadcasting. The Meneses were involved in the foundation of XEJ and XEPM television in Ciudad Juárez. XHMH originally broadcast on channel 12 with an effective radiated power of 5,500 watts, but in the 1980s it moved to channel 13 and later raised its power to 85,000 watts. Canal 13 was transferred to Meneses's successor, Beatriz Molinar Fernández, after his death on May 5, 1998. After her death, the station passed to Pedro Luis Fitzmaurice Meneses. In 2014, digital facilities for XHMH were authorized, and it built XHMH-TDT on digital channel 30 (using PSIP to show as channel 13.1). Multimedios Television
Canal 6 (alternately known as Multimedios Televisión) is a network of Spanish language television stations primarily concentrated in northeastern Mexico and the southwestern United States. The system is part of Grupo Multimedios. The flagship station of Multimedios is XHAW-TDT located in Monterrey, Nuevo León. Programming features locally produced news, sports, children's shows and general mass appeal variety programming. On weekdays, the network produces around twenty hours of live daily programming, with lesser amounts during the weekends and holidays. Throughout its broadcast week, the network produces 58 hours of news programming per week under the branding of ''Telediario'', including a Sunday night public affairs program, ''Cambios''. XEJ-TDT (channel 50) is a television station in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, owned and operated by the Meneses Hoyos family. It is currently an independent television station. History Founded by Pedro Meneses Hoyos on May 17, 1954, it was the first TV station in the state of Chihuahua, the first Spanish channel in the Juárez-El Paso-Las Cruces area, and the third Mexican TV station outside of Mexico City. It was described as the lowest-cost TV startup in the world, costing about $75,000, due to its use of a basic equipment setup and a used transmitter from El Paso station KROD-TV. Hidalgo del Parral is a city and seat of the municipality of Hidalgo del Parral in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. It is located in the southern part of the state, from the state capital, the city of Chihuahua, Chihuahua. As of 2015, the city of Hidalgo del Parral had a population of 109,510 inhabitants, while the metro area had a population of 129,688 inhabitants. During the colonial period the city was a significant supplier of silver to the Spanish empire and was known as San José del Parral. XEPM-TDT
XEPM-TDT is a television station in Ciudad Juárez owned by Televisa. Broadcasting on physical channel 29 and virtual channel 2, XEPM carries Las Estrellas programming. History XEPM received its concession in June 1960 and came on air on January 16, 1961. The station was named by original concessionaire Sergio R. Molinar Fernández in honor of Pedro Meneses, the husband of Molinar's sister Beatriz. Meneses started XEJ-TV in 1951. In 1972, XEPM was sold to Telesistema del Norte, S.A. Telesistema del Norte was a wholly owned subsidiary of Telesistema Mexicano, which within a year of buying XEPM changed its name to Televisa. Under Televisa it has relayed the Las Estrellas and Canal 5 networks, and from 2007 to 2015 it was Televisa's local station for Juárez. The Program and System Information Protocol (PSIP) is the MPEG (Moving Picture Experts Group, a video and audio industry group) and privately defined program-specific information originally defined by General Instrument for the DigiCipher 2 system and later extended for the ATSC standards, ATSC digital television system for carrying metadata about each communication channel, channel in the Broadcasting, broadcast MPEG transport stream of a television station and for publishing information about television programs so that viewers can select what to watch by title and description. XHMTCH-TDT is the Multimedios Televisión television station in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico. The station is owned by Grupo Multimedios. History Multimedios Televisión had an off-and-on presence in the Ciudad Juárez market, primarily by way of El Paso low-power station K40FW (later K26KJ and K26KJ-D, now K27OJ-D), which began broadcasting Multimedios in 2006 and converted to digital in July 2015. On June 23, 2017, Cabada Holdings, LLC (formerly Broadcast Group, Ltd.) agreed to sell K26KJ-D's license to Martin Lorenzo Smith, Grupo Multimedios' international public relations and sales' director in the U.S. This made K26KJ-D the first television station owned and operated by an American employee of Grupo Multimedios. The deal was approved by the FCC on August 9, 2017, but consummation did not occur until March 7, 2018.
