XHJP-FM is a community radio station on 107.9 FM in Santa María Tlahuitoltepec, Oaxaca. On December 6, 2004, XHJP-FM 107.9 was permitted. In 2016, Jën Poj Radio asked to have its permit transferred to a social-indigenous concession. The change, approved by the IFT in July 2016, required the transfer of the permit from the civil association formed to hold it, Kukoj, A.C., to the Indigenous Community of Santa María Tlahuitoltepec, Mixe, Oaxaca. Oaxaca, officially the Free and Sovereign State of Oaxaca, is one of the 32 states that compose the political divisions of Mexico, Federative Entities of the Mexico, United Mexican States. Mixe Languages
The Mixe languages are languages of the Mixean branch of the Mixe–Zoquean languages, Mixe–Zoquean language family indigenous to southern Mexico. According to a 1995 classification, there are seven of them (including one that is extinct). The four that are spoken in Oaxaca are commonly called Mixe while their two relatives spoken in Veracruz are commonly called "Popoluca", but sometimes also Mixe (these are "Oluta Popoluca" or "Olutec Mixe" and "Sayula Popoluca" or "Sayultec Mixe"). The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (''Secretaría de Infraestructura, Comunicaciones y Transportes'', SICT) of Mexico is the national federal entity that regulates commercial road traffic and broadcasting.
