It is owned by Grupo Radio Guaymas and is known as La Super Grupera with a grupera format. History XEPS-AM 1400, based in Empalme, received its concession on January 9, 1969. The 500-watt day/250-watt night station was owned by Hugo Águilar Flores. By the 1980s, it was sold to Radio Amistad de Sonora and broadcast on 710 kHz, with a higher daytime power of 1,000 watts. Guaymas () is a city in Guaymas Municipality, in the southwest part of the state of Sonora, in northwestern Mexico. The city is south of the state capital of Hermosillo, and from the U.S. border. The municipality's formal name is Guaymas de Zaragoza and the city's formal name is the Heroica Ciudad de Guaymas. The city proper is mostly an industrial port and is the principal port for the state of Sonora. The city has a well-attended annual carnival, which has been held since 1888. Nearby, San Carlos and its beaches are major tourist attractions. History Before the arrival of the Europeans, the bay of Guaymas was dominated by the Guaymas, Seri and Yaqui tribes. XHDR-FM
XHDR-FM 99.5 is a radio station in Guaymas, Sonora. It carries a pop format known as Digital 99 1/2 and is owned locally by Grupo Radio Guaymas. History XEDR received its first concession in 1938, as the first radio station in Guaymas. It was owned by Modesto Ortega and broadcast on 1490 kHz. By the 1960s, Ortega had died, and his successors owned the station. The station added an FM combo in 1994, XHDR-FM 99.5. In the mid-2000s, it also moved from 1490 to 830, changing from a 1 kW day/0.25 kW night station to offer 2.5 kilowatts of power during the day. In 2012, the station was sold after decades of being owned by Ortega's successors, to Radio Amistad de Sonora, owned by the Lizárraga Verdugo family. Empalme, Sonora
Empalme is a city surrounded by the homonymous municipality located on the south-central coast of the Mexican state of Sonora. According to the 2005 census, the population of the city was 40,630 inhabitants, while the municipality, which has an area of 708.53  km2 (273.56 sq mi), reported 50,663 inhabitants. Except for its coastline on the Gulf of California (Sea of Cortes), the municipality is surrounded by the much larger municipality of Guaymas. Name In Spanish, the word ''empalme'' means "junction". At first, the community site was called ''Kilómetro Nueve'' because it was nine kilometres out of the port city of Guaymas. Then it was called ''El Empalme'' meaning ''the junction''.
