XHEL-FM is a radio station on 95.1 FM in Fresnillo Fresnillo (/fres'nijo/), founded in 1554 by Francisco de Ibarra, is the second largest city in Zacatecas state, north central Mexico and the seat of Fresnillo municipality. It was owned by José Antonio Casas Torres and broadcast with 1,000 watts day and 150 watts night. By the late 1960s, control was in the hands of José Antonio Casas García. On July 26, 2003, Casas García died; Juana Gallegos Rojas became the concessionaire. She has also since died. XEEL was cleared to move to FM in February 2011, with its tower on Cerro Xoconostle. XHIH-FM is a radio station on 103.3 FM in Fresnillo, Zacatecas Fresnillo (/fres'nijo/), founded in 1554 by Francisco de Ibarra, is the second largest city in Zacatecas state, north central Mexico and the seat of Fresnillo municipality. XEIH was cleared to move to FM in December 2011, with its tower on Cerro Xoconostle. Several years later, XHIH-FM was approved to increase power to 32.27 kW. Fresnillo
Fresnillo (/fres'nijo/), founded in 1554 by Francisco de Ibarra, is the second largest city in Zacatecas state, north central Mexico and the seat of Fresnillo municipality. As a rail and highway junction, Fresnillo is the center of a rich mining area known especially for silver, and the location of one of the world's richest silver mines, the Mina Proaño or Fresnillo Mine, which belongs to the Peñoles mining company. Other important economic activities include agriculture (cereals, beans), cattle raising, and a mining school. Fresnillo is also the municipal seat of the municipality of the same name which surrounds it. The municipality had a population of 196,538 and an areal extent of .
