XHBR-TDT is a television station in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. The station carries Televisa's local programming in Nuevo Laredo. History XHBR received its concession on March 18, 1968 and came to air that October, broadcasting on analog channel 11. It was owned by Ramona Esparza González for 20 years until she transferred the station to Televisa subsidiary Televisión de Lerma, S.A., on July 19, 1988. Esparza González had bought XEFE-TV two years earlier. Televisa raised XHBR's effective radiated power from 3.5 to 325 kilowatts. In 2001, Televisión de Lerma was merged into Televimex, and in 2018 the concession was reassigned to Televisora de Occidente amid a major reorganization of concessions that saw them organized by service. Laredo ( ; ) is a city in the U.S. state of Texas and the county seat of Webb County, Texas, Webb County, on the north bank of the Rio Grande in South Texas, across from Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Nuevo Laredo () is a city in the Municipality of Nuevo Laredo in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. The city lies on the banks of the Rio Grande, across from Laredo, United States. Televisa Regional is a unit of Grupo Televisa which owns and operates television stations across Mexico. The stations rebroadcast programming from its subsidiary TelevisaUnivision's other networks, and they engage in the local production of newscasts and other programs. Televisa Regional stations all have their own distinct branding, except for those that are Nu9ve affiliates and brand as "Nu9ve ". Televisa traditionally has had agreements with independent station owners to supply programming for local stations. These stations were locally or regionally owned but featured Televisa programs; affiliated broadcasters included Televisoras Grupo Pacífico, with stations in five cities in western Mexico, and Tele-Emisoras del Sureste, with multiple stations in southeast Mexico. XHLAR-TDT (channel 2) is a television station in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. It is owned by Grupo Televisa and carries its Las Estrellas network. The station's studios and transmitter are located on Avenida de la República in Nuevo Laredo. History On 9 March 1994, Radiotelevisora de México Norte, S.A. de C.V., a subsidiary of Televisa, was authorized to build 62 new stations, including channel 57 in Nuevo Laredo, with the call sign XHNUL-TV. XHNUL and sister XHTAM-TDT, XHRTA-TV in Reynosa, however, did not sign on with Mexican programming. Instead, channel 57 signed on for the first time on 4 September of that same year as XHFTX-TV, broadcasting programming from the Fox Broadcasting Company, Fox network for Laredo, Texas. Prior to XHFTX's sign-on, Laredo viewers received their Fox programs on cable, either from the national Foxnet service or from KMYS, KRRT in San Antonio.
