XHAV-FM
XHAV-FM is a radio station on 100.3 MHz in Guadalajara. The station is owned by El Heraldo de México newspaper as Heraldo Radio, a news/talk station. History XEAV-FM 100.3 received its concession on November 25, 1963, but it had been operating since at least February 1958, making it the first FM radio station in Jalisco. It was an FM simulcast of XEAV-AM 580 "Radio Guadalajara". Between 1970 and 1976, XEAV-FM became XHAV-FM, a separately programmed station. The 1980s saw the station turn its focus to a younger audience with rock music; known as "Super Stereo", the station was considered a launching pad for radio personalities in Guadalajara. In 2004, XHAV was sold by Núcleo Radio Guadalajara to Grupo Imagen, and two years later, Super Stereo, which had seen its ratings wane over time, was relaunched as a new radio format from Imagen, known as RMX. ''El Heraldo de México'' is a Mexican national daily newspaper published in Mexico City. Initially founded in 1965, after a 14-year absence of the name, the newspaper was relaunched on May 2, 2017. History Original ''El Heraldo de México'' The original newspaper was launched by the Alarcón family on November 9, 1965. The newspaper came on the scene as a technological leader, with a Goss Urbanite press and eventually a custom-built facility in the Colonia Doctores neighborhood. It was printed in color, a rarity for Mexican papers of the time, which often remained in black-and-white for several more decades. It was often considered loyal to governments in power. XHDL-FM is a radio station on 98.5 FM in Mexico City. XHDL is owned by ''El Heraldo de México'' and operates as a news/talk station known as El Heraldo Radio. The transmitter site is located atop Cerro del Chiquihuite. XHDL-FM broadcasts in HD Radio, HD. History 98.5 FM began as XELA-FM in 1962, owned by Radio Metropolitana, S.A., the concessionaire of XELA-AM 830. Until 1984, it was an FM simulcast of 830 AM; when it broke away, it became "Stereo Classics", English-language music of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. In 1989, the format was changed to more contemporary music in English as "Dial FM", and the callsign was changed to XHDL-FM to reference the new format. Radioactivo era On July 20, 1992, XHDL became "Radioactivo 98.5", with a rock and hip hop format.
