The Sistema de Radiodifusoras Culturales Indígenas (SRCI; ) is a state-owned network of radio stations in Mexico. The radio stations it operates are community radio stations that aim to serve different sectors of the country's Indigenous peoples in Mexico, indigenous peoples. Pursuant to Article 4 of the Constitution of Mexico, Constitution, their mission is to strengthen the multicultural nature of the nation by promoting the use of 31 Native American languages, indigenous languages. Yucatec Maya ( ; referred to by its speakers as or ) is a Mayan languages, Mayan language spoken in the Yucatán Peninsula, including part of northern Belize. There is also a significant diasporic community of Yucatec Maya speakers in San Francisco, though most Maya Americans are speakers of other Mayan languages from Guatemala and Chiapas. Xpujil
Xpujil () is a town in the Mexican state of Campeche. It serves as the municipal seat for the surrounding municipality of Calakmul. As of 2010, Xpujil had a population of 3,984. Xpujil is located in the south-east of the state, close to the border with Quintana Roo to the east and Peten, Guatemala, to the south. With Escárcega, Campeche to the west and Chetumal, Quintana Roo to the east it is a useful midway point on Federal Highway 186. Close to the town are the Maya ruins of Xpuhil () and Becan (), Chicanná, Balamcan, Hormiguero. Further to the south-west is the major Maya site of Calakmul, in the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve. Highway 186 was, as of February 2009, undergoing a major refurbishment to a multilane highway that will improve access to the zone. Calakmul, Campeche
Calakmul is a municipality in the Mexican state of Campeche, situated in the central part of the Yucatán Peninsula. History The municipality was created on 31 December 1996, from part of the territory of Champotón. On 19 June 1998, the State Congress enacted legislation creating the new municipality of Candelaria as of 1 July of that year, and Calakmul lost 24% of its population and a portion of its territory. Geography The municipality of Calakmul borders to the east with Quintana Roo (municipalities of José María Morelos, Bacalar, and Othón P.
