Fantasy Flight Games (FFG) is a game company based in Roseville, Minnesota, United States, that creates and publishes role-playing, board, card, and dice games. As of 2014, it is a subsidiary of Asmodée Éditions. History Fantasy Flight Publishing was founded in 1995 by its CEO Christian T. Petersen. Board games are tabletop games that typically use . ''XCOM'' (originally called ''X-COM'') is a science fiction video game franchise featuring an elite international organization tasked with countering alien invasions of Earth. The series began with the strategy video game '' X-COM: UFO Defense'' created by Julian Gollop's Mythos Games and MicroProse in 1994. The original lineup by MicroProse included six published and at least two canceled games, as well as two novels. The ''X-COM'' series, in particular its original entry, achieved a sizable cult following and has influenced many other video games; including the creation of a number of clones, spiritual successors, and unofficial remakes. ''Casus Belli'' is a French magazine about role-playing games, published in different formats since 1980. It contains news, reviews, interviews, features, and role-playing game materials. Cooperative Board Games
Cooperative board games are board games in which players work together to achieve a common goal rather than competing against each other. Either the players win the game by reaching a pre-determined objective, or all players lose the game, often by not reaching the objective before a certain event ends the game. Definition In cooperative board games, all players win or lose the game together. These games should not be confused with ''noncompetitive'' games, such as ''The Ungame'', which simply do not have victory conditions or any set objective to complete. While adventure board games with role playing and dungeon crawl elements like ''Gloomhaven'' may be included, pure tabletop role-playing games like '' Descent: Journeys in the Dark'' are excluded as they have potentially infinite victory conditions with persistent player characters.
