X-Men (1993 Video Game)
''X-Men'' is a home console video game produced by Sega for Sega Genesis in 1993, based on the adventures of the Marvel Comics superhero team, the X-Men. One or two players can play as any of four pre-chosen X-Men. ''X-Men'' was released in 1993 and was followed up by '' X-Men 2: Clone Wars''. Plot The game takes place in the Danger Room, a training area for the X-Men inside the X-Mansion. A virus transmitted via satellite has infected the Danger Room, disabling control and safety limits. The X-Men must endure the unpredictable behavior of the Danger Room until the virus can be located and eliminated. Once the virus is eliminated, the X-Men discover that Magneto is behind the computer virus and the final stage involves a battle with him. Gameplay Gambit, Nightcrawler, Wolverine, and Cyclops are available to play. The YM2612, a.k.a. OPN2, is a sound chip developed by Yamaha Corporation, Yamaha. It is a member of Yamaha's OPN family of frequency modulation synthesis, FM synthesis chips, and was developed as a stripped-down version of the Yamaha YM2608, YM2608. The YM2612 is a six-channel FM synthesizer used in several game and computer systems, most notably in Sega's Sega Mega Drive, Mega Drive/Genesis video game console as well as Fujitsu's FM Towns computer series. Sauron (comics)
Sauron () is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Neal Adams, and made his first appearance in '' The X-Men'' #59 (August 1969). Sauron is the alter ego of physician Dr. Karl Lykos. After being bitten by mutant pterodactyls, Lykos was transformed into an energy vampire, able to absorb the life force of others through touch. If Lykos absorbs the life force of mutants, he transforms into a humanoid ''Pteranodon'', gaining increased strength and speed in the process. However, this also causes Sauron to gain control over Lykos.
