Wyvern Theatre
The Wyvern Theatre is a 635-seat indoor auditorium in Swindon, England, opened in September 1971. It is owned by Swindon Borough Council and operated by Trafalgar Entertainment. In March 2019, Swindon Borough Council stated the building was likely to reach the end of its life by 2027, when its operations contract ends. Representative Dale Heenan cautioned that structural and maintenance reports showed the theatre required major investment. In November 2023, the authority suggested the site of a new venue could be the town's bus station, as it was slated for demolition. In September 2024, proposals were released for a new multi-purpose theatre with increased capacity on the bus station site. Proposals have outlined that the existing Wyvern Theatre will be retained, but repurposed as a performing space for community arts groups. Swindon () is a town in Wiltshire, England. At the time of the 2021 Census the population of the built-up area was 183,638, making it the largest settlement in the county. David Griffin (born 19 July 1943) is an English actor best known for both his roles as Squadron Leader Clive Dempster DFC in '' Hi-de-Hi!'' between 1984 and 1988 and Emmet Hawksworth in ''Keeping Up Appearances'' between 1991 and 1995. Jimmy Cricket
James Mulgrew (born 17 October 1945), known professionally as Jimmy Cricket, is a Northern Irish comedian. He first came to prominence as a comedian in the 1970s and has had his own shows on television and radio. Early life and career Cricket was born in Cookstown, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, and left school at 16. He spent the next two years working in a betting shop, before spending the summer of 1966 working as a Red Coat in Butlins Holiday camp at Mosney, County Meath. Brian Hibbard
Brian Hibbard (26 November 1946 – 17 June 2012) was a Welsh actor and singer from Ebbw Vale, Wales, best remembered as the lead vocalist in the original The Flying Pickets. Early life and career Hibbard was born into a working class family in Ebbw Vale, Monmouthshire, and had a socialist upbringing. He was educated at Ebbw Vale Grammar School. After various jobs including teacher, steel worker, barman and chimney sweep, he formed The Flying Pickets with a group of other actors who had practised a cappella singing while travelling by coach to their appearances. Their cover version of Yazoo's track " Only You" was the Christmas number one in 1983 on the UK Singles Chart. Hugo Myatt (born 13 September 1945) is a British actor, presenter and theatre director, best known for his role as the dungeon master Treguard in the children's game show '' Knightmare''. ''Knightmare'' Myatt played the role of Treguard of Dunshelm, the dungeon master and presenter of the Children's ITV game series '' Knightmare'' throughout all eight series, between 1987 and 1994. Myatt met Tim Child, the creator of ''Knightmare'', while Child was working as line producer on Anglia Television's regional news programme '' About Anglia'' with his wife, presenter Christine Webber.
