Don Wycherley is an Irish actor. He played Father Cyril McDuff in ''Father Ted'', Father Aidan O'Connell in ''Ballykissangel'', and Raymond in '' Bachelors Walk''. Wycherley is a fluent Irish speaker. He is the brother-in-law of actress Tina Kellegher. His father was Florence Wycherley, an independent Teachta Dála (TD) for Cork West from 1957 to 1957 Irish general election, 1961. Richard Ernest Wycherley (18 February 1909 – 26 April 1986), was a British classical archaeologist, specialising in ancient Greece. He attended Queens' College at the University of Cambridge, attaining a bachelor's degree in 1930 and a diploma in classical archaeology in 1931. He was Assistant Lecturer for Classics at the University of Manchester from 1932 to 1937 and later Lecturer until 1945. He was Emeritus Professor of Greek at the University of Wales. He was the author of the Companion Volume to the Loeb Edition of Pausanias, Description of Greece; How the Greeks Built Cities; The Athenian Agora III, Literary and Epigraphical Testimonia and The Stones of Athens. A farmer by trade, he first stood for election to Dáil Éireann as a Clann na Talmhan candidate at the 1954 general election for Cork West but was not elected. Ronald Wycherley (17 April 1940 – 28 January 1983), better known by his stage name Billy Fury, was an English musician. An early star of rock and roll, he spent 332 weeks on the UK singles chart. His hit singles include " Wondrous Place", " Halfway to Paradise" and "Jealousy". Fury also maintained a film career, notably playing rock performers in '' Play It Cool'' in 1962 and ''That'll Be the Day'' in 1973.
