Wu Yuhong
Wu Yuhong (, born 3 November 1966) is a former Chinese badminton player. Yuhong was the runner-up in 1993 Birmingham World Championships and has won medals in several other prominent competitions such as World Cup, Uber Cup, Asian Cup, Asian Championships, Asian Games and East Asian Games. Career Wu Yuhong, whose ancestral home is in Hualien county, Taiwan, is a member of the Ami tribe of Taiwan’s aboriginal tribe and a member of the Taiwan League. In the 14th Uber Cup held in 1992, she won the gold medal, beating South Korea in the final. She won 1992 Asian Badminton Championships, 1993 East Asian Games team event, China Open, Hong Kong Open, National championships twice, and most importantly World Badminton Championships women’s doubles runner-up in 1993. The Badminton Asian Cup was an Asian continental championship in the five individual disciplines in badminton. It was held in 1991, 1994, 1995 and 1996. Gil Young-ah
Gil Young-ah (born April 11, 1970 in Ansan, Gyeonggi-do) is a former female badminton player from South Korea. At the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, she won the bronze medal in the women's doubles together with Shim Eun-jung. Four years later, at the Atlanta Olympics, she won the gold medal in the mixed doubles together with Kim Dong-moon and the silver medal in the women's doubles together with Jang Hye-ock. Gil retired from badminton after the 1996 Olympics and became an assistant coach of the Samsung Electro-Mechanics badminton team. In 2011, Gil became the first woman to be appointed head coach of a professional team in Korea. She was made Head Coach of the Samsung Electromechanics Women's Badminton Team. Chung So-young
Chung So-young (; born 20 February 1967) is a former badminton player from South Korea. She was a gold medalist at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992 in the women's doubles together with Hwang Hye-young, and was inducted into the Badminton Hall of Fame in 2003. Zhou Lei
Zhou Lei () is a former world level badminton player from China who later coached in the United States. Career Primarily a doubles specialist, Zhou's biggest badminton achievement was winning women's doubles at the 1993 IBF World Championships in Birmingham, England with compatriot Nong Qunhua. Zhou also shared women's doubles titles at the French (1989), Swedish (1990), Thailand (1992), and Hong Kong (1992) Opens. In 1989 she was a runner-up at the prestigious All-England Championships and a bronze medalist at the IBF World Championships with Sun Xiaoqing. Nong Qunhua (; born July 20, 1966) is a former international badminton player from China who specialized in women's doubles. Career Nong was one of the world's leading women's doubles players of the early 1990s, winning the IBF World Championships in 1991 with Guan Weizhen and in 1993 with Zhou Lei. With Guan, Nong also won the 1990 Asian Games, was a silver medalist at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, and was a runner-up at the 1992 All England Championships. Arena Birmingham (known for sponsorship reasons as Utilita Arena Birmingham, and previously as The Barclaycard Arena and originally as the National Indoor Arena) is an indoor arena and sporting venue in central Birmingham, United Kingdom.
