Worldvision Enterprises, Inc. was an American television program and home video distributor established in 1954 as ABC Film Syndication, the domestic and overseas program distribution arm of the ABC Television Network. They primarily licensed programs from independent producers, rather than producing their own content. Nellie Elizabeth "Irish" McCalla (December 25, 1928 – February 1, 2002) was an American film and television actress and artist best known as the title star of the 1950s television series '' Sheena, Queen of the Jungle''. Metromedia Square (later known as Fox Television Center from 1986 to 1996) was a radio and television studio facility located at 5746 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California on the southeastern corner of Sunset and Van Ness Avenue in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Sheena, Queen of the Jungle, is a fictional American comic book jungle girl heroine during the Golden Age of Comic Books. ''Renfrew of the Royal Mounted'' was a popular series of boy's adventure books written by Laurie York Erskine that were later filmed and became a series on both radio and television. Canon 'Inspector Douglas Renfrew' was a former Royal Flying Corps officer who joined the Royal North-West Mounted Police, later the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The fictional literary character was created in 1921 by Laurie York Erskine. While Canadian Mountie fiction existed prior to 1921, it was Erskine's creation that led to imitation and, for a few short years in the latter half of the 1930s, a rise in popularity with the form of adventure fiction. The short stories that appeared in magazines were recycled for use in a series of ten novels, a long-running radio program and a series of eight motion pictures. Hal Roach Jr
Harold Eugene Roach Jr. (June 15, 1918 – March 29, 1972) was an American film and television producer. Biography Roach Jr. was born in Los Angeles, the son of comedy producer Hal Roach and actress Marguerite Nichols. Roach Jr. co-directed ''One Million B.C.'' with his father. Roach was president of the Hal Roach Studios for some time, but was ousted in 1959 when he and Alexander Guterma, who attempted to create an empire of the studio, Mutual Broadcasting System, and others, were both indicted on federal securities violations. Roach married Alva Brewer in 1940, with whom he had two children. Death Roach produced individual episodes of many early television series but no well-known films aside from those directly involving his father. He died on March 29, 1972, at the age of 53 after falling ill with pneumonia (as did his mother). His father outlived him by 20 years, dying in 1992 at age 100.
