Worlds Collide (2019)
The 2019 Worlds Collide was the inaugural Worlds Collide professional wrestling streaming event produced by WWE. It was held for wrestlers from the promotion's NXT, NXT UK, and 205 Live brand divisions. The event took place on January 26 and 27, 2019, at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona as part of that year's Royal Rumble weekend. The event aired on tape delay on the WWE Network as one single event on February 2, 2019. The event featured the 15-man Worlds Collide tournament, with the wrestlers being equally divided amongst the NXT, NXT UK, and 205 Live rosters. The prize was a championship match of the winner's choice. The tournament was won by NXT's Velveteen Dream, who chose to challenge Johnny Gargano for the NXT North American Championship. 205 Live (WWE Brand)
205 Live was a brand of the American professional wrestling promotion WWE that was established in April 2018 and discontinued in February 2022. Brands are divisions of WWE's roster where wrestlers are assigned to perform on a weekly basis when a brand extension is in effect. Wrestlers assigned to 205 Live primarily appeared on the brand's weekly television program, '' 205 Live''. NXT North American Championship
The NXT North American Championship is a professional wrestling championship created and promoted by the American promotion WWE. It is primarily defended as the secondary men's championship of the NXT brand division, the promotion's developmental territory. The current champion is Wes Lee, who is in his first reign. Austin Michael Romero (born October 9, 1981) is an American television host, ring announcer and backstage interviewer. A ring announcer is an in-ring (and sometimes on-camera) employee or contractor for a boxing, professional wrestling or mixed martial arts event or promotion, who introduces the competitors to the audience. In boxing and mixed martial arts bouts, introductions occur after both fighters have entered the ring or cage. Along with each fighter's name, the announcer typically also announces their height, weight, town, nickname, win–loss record and any current or past titles the fighter has won. Steven Haworth (born 23 January 1976), better known by his ring name Nigel McGuinness, is an English actor, professional wrestling commentator and retired professional wrestler. He is best known for his time with WWE where he worked as a color commentator for '' NXT'', '' NXT UK'' and ''NXT Level Up''. As a wrestler, he is known for his work with Ring of Honor (ROH) in the United States and Pro Wrestling Noah in Japan.
