The World Ninepin Bowling Association (WNBA) is the world governing body of nine-pin bowling, and one of two member associations of the International Bowling Federation. The WNBA counts approximately 250,000 members in 28 countries in Europe, South America and Asia. The World Tenpin Bowling Association is the world governing body of ten-pin bowling, and one of the two sections of the International Bowling Federation. World Ninepin Bowling Classic Championships
The World Ninepin Bowling Classic Championships were a biennial nine-pin bowling competition organized by the World Ninepin Bowling Association. The World Championships was started in 1953 and took place every two years until 1959. The next competition was in 1962 with the assumption of alternating with the European Championships every two years. In 1966, this concept was abandoned and thereafter the championships were biennial until 2004. Since 2005, the competition has been divided. International Bowling Federation (IBF), formerly known as the ''Fédération Internationale des Quilleurs'' (FIQ) from 1952 to April 2014 and as World Bowling (WB) from April 2014 to November 2020, is the world governing body of nine-pin and ten-pin bowling.
