World Cycling Championships
The UCI World Championships are annual competitions promoted by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) to determine world champion cyclists. They are held in several different styles of racing, in a different country each year. Championship winners wear a white jersey with coloured bands around the chest for the following year. The similarity to the colours of a rainbow gives them the colloquial name of " the rainbow jersey." The first three individuals or teams in each championship win gold, silver and bronze medals. Former world champions are allowed to wear a trim to their collar and sleeves in the same pattern as the rainbow jersey. Championships are held for men and for women in road cycling, track cycling, cyclo-cross, mountain biking, gravel, BMX, and indoor cycling. There are also championships for disabled competitors. Eyeru Tesfoam Gebru (; born 10 December 1996) is an Ethiopian professional bicycle racing, racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Team, UCI Women's Continental Team . She rode in the women's road race and time trial at the UCI Road World Championships in 2017 UCI Road World Championships, 2017, 2018 UCI Road World Championships, 2018 and 2020 UCI Road World Championships, 2020. Sturmey-Archer
Sturmey-Archer was a manufacturing company originally from Nottingham, England. It primarily produced bicycle hub gears, brakes and a great many other sundry bicycle components, most prominently during its heyday as a subsidiary of the Raleigh Bicycle Company. In the past, it also manufactured motorcycle hubs, gearboxes and engines. The company was founded in 1902 by Henry Sturmey and James Archer under the guidance of Frank Bowden, the primary owner of Raleigh. The UCI Urban Cycling World Championships are the world championship events for freestyle BMX, cross-country eliminator, and Mountain bike trials, trials. They are organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale, Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the governing body of world cycling. UCI Mountain Bike Marathon World Championships
The UCI Mountain Bike Marathon World Championships is the world championship event for marathon mountain bike races. Inaugurated by the Union Cycliste Internationale in 2003, the event is held annually in single classes for men and women. The 2003 event was organized as part of the UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships. Subsequent marathon world championships, however, have been organised as a stand-alone event. The UCI awards a gold medal and a rainbow jersey to the winner. Silver and bronze medals are awarded to the second and third place contestants. The UCI Track Cycling World Championships are the set of world championship events for the various disciplines and distances in track cycling. They are regulated by the Union Cycliste Internationale. Before 1900, they were administered by the UCI's predecessor, the International Cycling Association (ICA). Current events include: time trial, keirin, individual pursuit, team pursuit, points race, scratch race, sprint, team sprint, omnium, madison and elimination race. 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships
The 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships was the inaugural edition of the UCI Cycling World Championships organised by the (UCI), held between 3 and 13 August 2023 in Glasgow. The UCI Cycling World Championships, to be held every four years in the year preceding the Olympic Games, brings together various disciplines of cycling for them to be held as part of one event, including the UCI Road World Championships, UCI Mountain Bike World Championships and UCI Track Cycling World Championships. Jimmy Michael (18 August 1877 – 21 November 1904) was a Welsh people, Welsh world cycling champion and one of the top riders in the sport for several years. Origins Jimmy Michael was tall.
