Adam Woolnough (born 24 May 1982) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer. Woolnough played as a for nine seasons at the Melbourne Storm, Penrith Panthers and the Newcastle Knights in the NRL. Background Woolnough was born in Taree, New South Wales, Australia. He was educated at Taree High School and was 1999 Australian Schoolboys representative. Playing career Woolnough made his debut in 2002 for his junior club Newcastle Knights. Brian Woolnough (30 September 1948 – 18 September 2012) was a British sports journalist and Chief Sports writer for the '' Daily Star''. Previously a writer for '' The Sun,'' in 1999 the ''Daily Mirror'' tried unsuccessfully to hire him. Woolnough was hired by the ''Daily Star'' in 2001 after owner Richard Desmond authorised a £200,000 pay package. In December 2004, following Norwich City's 4–0 defeat at Chelsea, Woolnough produced a Monday morning column that enraged many Norwich fans, saying that City were "gutless," that they would "stink the place out" with Premiership performances of a similar ilk, and that he "Hopes they go down, and good riddance." Woolnough was strongly criticised for the article in Norwich, and although refusing to withdraw his comments, he later visited Carrow Road after receiving 450 e-mails and the local newspaper getting involved with the debate. Fearless Vampire Killers (FVK) are a five-piece English theatrical alternative rock band formed in Beccles in 2008. Their line-up consists of vocalist and rhythm guitarist Laurence Beveridge, vocalist and rhythm guitarist Kier Kemp, bassist Drew Woolnough, lead guitarist Cyrus Barrone (Shane Sumner) and drummer Luke Illingworth (Pilnahn). The name of the band originated from the 1967 Roman Polanski comedy horror film '' The Fearless Vampire Killers''. Frank Woolnough
Frank Woolnough (1845–1930) was the curator of Ipswich Museum from 1893–1920. He also published material under the pseudonym Felix Walton. In ''A History of Ipswich Museum'' he wrote: :''"A curator tries to leave behind him true records for those who come after him to take up and carry on the work so that development and knowledge may grow hand in hand."'' Woolnough was also the first curator of Christchurch Mansion, preparing it for public access. He was active in the Unitarian Church until 1913 when he retired from the local committee when it admitted women to its ranks. George Woolnough
George Harewell Woolnough (10 February 1884 – 13 December 1963) was a saddler in Tenterfield, New South Wales from 1908 until his retirement in 1960. Woolnough's grandson was Peter Allen, a flamboyant cabaret singer who immortalised Woolnough with the song " Tenterfield Saddler". Michael Woolnough (born 24 September 1952) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Geelong and Collingwood in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1970s. Woolnough, a wingman, was recruited to Geelong from Geelong Football League (GFL) club St Joseph's. In 1972 and 1973, his appearances were limited by knee and hamstring problems but he was a regular from 1974. He transferred to Collingwood in 1979 and played his last league game in their 1980 VFL Grand Final loss, which he started on the interchange bench. Walter George Woolnough (15 January 1876 – 28 September 1958) was an Australian geologist. Woolnough was born in Brushgrove, Grafton, New South Wales, and attended Sydney Boys High School (1888-1890), Newington College (1893-1894) and the University of Sydney. In 1897, as an undergraduate, he accompanied Edgeworth David's expedition to Funafuti Atoll, where Charles Darwin's theory of the formation of coral reefs was tested. Walter George Woolnough was "temporary" adviser to the Commonwealth Government from 1927 to 1941. After visiting North American and Argentinian oilfields in 1930, he encouraged the use of aerial surveys and aerial photos in the search for oil, which he believed would be found in commercial quantities in Australia and New Guinea. In 1932 Woolnough recognised the dome-like structure of Rough Range, Exmouth Gulf, scene of an oil discovery in 1953.
