WongPartnership is a Singaporean law firm. It is regarded as one of the Big Four law firms in Singapore, alongside Allen & Gledhill, Rajah & Tann, and Drew & Napier. In 2021, it was ranked as the second-largest law firm in Singapore by size, with 111 partners and 223 associates. History In 1992, Wong Meng Meng & Partners was formed by a team of 11 lawyers, including Wong Meng Meng, Sundaresh Menon, Dilhan Pillay Sandrasegara, and Alvin Yeo. The firm was later renamed to WongPartnership in 2008. In 2000, a proposed deal for the firm to partner with Clifford Chance in a joint law venture (JLV) fell through, owing in part to the resignation of senior partner Lee Suet-Fern, who went on to start her own firm and JLV with Shearman & Sterling. Alvin Yeo
Alvin Yeo Khirn Hai (; 28 March 1962 – 30 July 2022) was a Singaporean lawyer and politician who co-founded WongPartnership, one of the Big Four law firms in Singapore. As a member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he was the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Nanyang division of Hong Kah GRC between 2006 and 2011, and later Chua Chu Kang GRC between 2011 and 2015. Education Yeo obtained his LLB from King's College London in 1985. He was thereafter admitted to the English Bar in 1986 before being admitted to the Singapore Bar in 1987. Career Politics Yeo was a member of the People's Action Party. He served as Member of Parliament for Hong Kah GRC from 2006 to 2011, and for Chua Chu Kang GRC from 2011 to 2015. Christopher De Souza
Christopher James de Souza (born 21 January 1976) is a Singaporean politician and lawyer who has been serving as Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore since 2020. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he has been the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Ulu Pandan division of Holland–Bukit Timah GRC since 2006. A lawyer by profession, de Souza has been working at Lee & Lee since 2006 and had also worked at WongPartnership between 2011 and 2014. Dilhan Pillay Sandrasegara () (born 1963) is a Singaporean lawyer who has been the executive director and chief executive officer (CEO) of Temasek Holdings since 1 October 2021. Early life and education Born in Singapore, Sandrasegara attended Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) before graduating from the National University of Singapore in 1988 with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree. Simon Tay Seong Chee () is a Singaporean lawyer and legal academic who served as a Nominated Member of Parliament between 1997 and 2003. Early life and education Tay was born on 4 January 1961 in Singapore. His father, Tay Seow Huah, was a senior civil servant. Sundaresh Menon (born 26 February 1962) is a Singaporean lawyer and judge who has served as the fourth Chief Justice of Singapore since 2012 after being appointed by president Tony Tan. Tan Cheng Han
Tan Cheng Han is a Singaporean lawyer and legal academic. Until 2012, he was the dean of the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law, where he taught contract law and company Law and directed the EW Barker Centre for Law & Business. From 2019 to 2022, he was the dean of the City University of Hong Kong School of Law and the chair professor of commercial law. He was also a consultant at TSMP Law Corporation.
