''Wolves Within'' is the fourth studio album by American progressive metal band After the Burial. It was released on December 17, 2013, through Sumerian Records, and is the band's last release to feature guitarist Justin Lowe before his departure in June 2015 followed by his death a month later. After the Burial is an American progressive metal band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. They are currently signed to Sumerian Records and have released five of their six full-length albums through the label. Since their inception in 2004, the band has gone through two vocalist changes, two drummer changes, the departure and death of founding rhythm guitarist Justin Lowe, and the departure of bassist Lerichard Foral. Lead guitarist Trent Hafdahl remains the sole remaining founding member. They are considered key contributors to the development of subgenres such as djent and progressive metalcore. Progressive metal (often shortened to prog metal) is a broad fusion music genre melding heavy metal music, heavy metal and progressive rock, combining the loud "aggression" and amplified electric guitar, guitar-driven sound of the former with the more experimental, cerebral or quasi-classical compositions of the latter. Metalcore
Metalcore is a broadly defined fusion genre combining elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk, originating in the 1990s United States and becoming popular in the 2000s. ''Dig Deep'' is the fifth studio album by American progressive metal band After the Burial. The album was released on February 19, 2016, through Sumerian Records and is the band's first release since the death of guitarist Justin Lowe. It is also the final album by the band to feature founding bassist Lee Foral, who announced his departure from the band later that year in June. Release The release of ''Dig Deep'' was announced on January 4, 2016, when the cover art and track listing was unveiled. The first single "Lost in the Static" was released on October 29, 2015.
