Wolfgang Kocevar
Wolfgang Kocevar (born 28 October 1969) is an Austrian politician and member of the Landtag of Lower Austria. A member of the Social Democratic Party of Austria, Social Democratic Party, he has been a State List member since March 2023. He has been mayor of Ebreichsdorf since 2010. Kocevar was born on 28 October 1969 in St. Pölten. He studied tourism and worked in the international tourism sector for 20 years. He worked for the Lower Austria branch of the Social Democratic Party of Austria, Social Democratic Party (SPÖ) from 2007 to 2023. He was a member of the local council (:de:Gemeinderat (Österreich), gemeinderat) in Ebreichsdorf from 2000 to 2009. He was member of the municipal council () in Ebreichsdorf from 2009 to 2010 when he became mayor of the municipality. Landtag Of Lower Austria
The Landtag of Lower Austria is the state parliament of the Austrian state of Lower Austria. It exercises the state legislation (legislature). The seat of the Landtag is in St. Pölten in the Landhausviertel. The Lower Austrian Parliament is composed of 56 members of parliament. The term of office is five years. Elections are held in accordance with the Lower Austrian Landtag election regulations of 1992. 21 constituencies in Lower Austria correspond to the political districts. The statutory cities belong to the district of the same name or the surrounding district. The number of deputies corresponds to the number of inhabitants. 2023 Lower Austrian State Election
The 2023 Lower Austrian state election was held on 29 January 2023 to elect the members of the Landtag of Lower Austria, Landtag of Lower Austria. The ruling conservative Austrian People's Party, ÖVP lost almost 10 percentage points and received slightly less than 40 % of the vote, making it its worst election result in Lower Austria's history. As a result, the party also lost its absolute majority in the state parliament (23 of 56 seats, -9), and its absolute majority in the state government, losing two of its six seats. The center-left Social Democratic Party of Austria, SPÖ also had its worst election result in history, losing more than 3 percentage points and receiving 20.7 % of the vote.
