Wolfenschiessen is a village and municipalities of Switzerland, municipality in the Cantons of Switzerland, canton of Nidwalden in Switzerland. Besides the village of Wolfenschiessen itself, the municipality includes the settlements of Altzellen, Büren ob dem Bach, Dörfli, and Oberrickenbach, together with a large area of high alpine land, mountains, lakes, and glaciers. History Wolfenschiessen was first mentioned around 1200 as ''Wolvinscizin'' though a 14th-century copy of a land record from around 1160 mentions two fields at ''Wolfenschiessen''. During the 12th century the farm and fields of Wolfenschiessen were owned by the Order of St. Benedict, Benedictine Muri Abbey. In the 13th and 14th centuries the lands were gradually transferred to Murbach Abbey, Murbach-Lucerne and Engelberg Abbeys. Bannalpsee
__NOTOC__ Bannalpsee is a reservoir in the Wolfenschiessen, municipality of Wolfenschiessen in the Switzerland, Swiss canton of Nidwalden. The reservoir's surface area is . The construction of the reservoir was decided in 1934 and completed in 1937. The reservoir is operated by Elektrizitätswerk Nidwalden. __NOTOC__ Trübsee () is an intermediate cable car station by the , Trüebsee (lit.: ''turbid lake'', Germanized: ''Trübsee'') is an Alpine lake () on the Ober Trüebsee Alpine pasture (or often just incorrectly shortened to ''Trüebsee'') in the upper part of the extensive municipality of Wolfenschiessen in the Switzerland, Swiss Nidwalden, canton of Nidwalden. The lake lies at the foot of the Titlis above the village resort of Engelberg. It can be reached from the village by cable car, or via several alpine walking paths, e.g. the ''Pfaffenwand''. The first aerial cableway was built in 1927 from , that could be reached with Gerschnialpbahn. The lake is a hydroelectric reservoir, providing water to the underground power station ''Trübsee'' (opened in 1968) near Engelberg, before flowing into the lake Eugenisee. Engelberger Aa
The Engelberger Aa (or ''Engelbergeraa'') is a river in Switzerland. It rises west of the Surenenpass in the Canton of Uri, flows through the valley of Engelberg ( Obwalden) and Nidwalden. At Buochs it flows into Lake Lucerne and is therefore a tributary of the Reuss, which drains the lake. Route The source of the river is at an altitude of approximately , a few hundred metres to the west of the Surenenpass ridge. From here it flows westwards, descending rapidly and collecting many mountain streams. It roughly follows the route of the Surenenpass hiking trail to Blackenalp (), the first farm dwelling along the route. At this point it is still a mountain stream and is named the ''Stierenbach''. Below Blackenalp are the two Stäuber waterfalls () which fall steeply to the valley floor. Nidwalden

The Swiss People's Party (, SVP; , PPS), also known as the Democratic Union of the Centre (, UDC; , UDC), is a national-conservative and right-wing populist political party in Switzerland.
