Wkra River
Wkra is a river in north-eastern Poland, a tributary of the Narew river, with a length of 255 kilometres and a basin area of 5,348 km² - all within Poland. Narew
The Narew (; be, Нараў, translit=Naraŭ; or ; Sudovian: ''Naura''; Old German: ''Nare''; uk, Нарва, translit=Narva) is a 499-kilometre (310 mi) river primarily in north-eastern Poland, which is also a tributary of the river Vistula. The Narew is one of Europe's few braided rivers, the term relating to the twisted channels resembling braided hair. Around 57 kilometres (35 mi) of the river flows through western Belarus. Etymology The name of the river is from a Proto-Indo-European root ''*nr'' primarily associated with ''water'' (compare Neretva, Neris, Ner and Nur) or from a Lithuanian language verb ''nerti'' associated primarily with ''diving'' and ''flood''. Bieżuń
Bieżuń is a town in Żuromin County, Masovian Voivodeship, Poland. The town lies on the Wkra River. As of December 2021, it has a population of 1,807. History Jędrzej of Golczew, castellan of Płock, established the town at the end of the 14th century. Duke Siemowit IV of Masovia granted the city rights charter in 1406 and in 1869, during Russia's occupation, the town lost its city rights until 1994. Bieżuń was a private town, administratively located in the Płock Voivodeship in the Greater Poland Province of the Polish Crown. Prior to the Deluge the town was famous and had a strong castle, but it was destroyed during that war. Polish Crown Chancellor Andrzej Zamoyski was born there and lived in the palace he built while working on his code of civil laws known as ''Zbiór praw sądowych''. Radzanów, Mława County
Radzanów is a village in Mława County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland, approximately south-west of Mława and north-west of Warsaw. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Radzanów. The village lies on the Wkra river. It has a population of 930, with the population of the surrounding gmina exceeding 4,000 inhabitants. Strzegowo (german: Striegenau) is a village on the Wkra river in Mława County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland.
