Witherscape is a progressive death metal band from Sweden run by multi-instrumentalists Dan Swanö and Ragnar Widerberg. Witherscape released an album, ''The Inheritance'', in 2013 which featured Eddie Risdal, Paul Kuhr, Joel Selsfors and Morten Jørgensen (musician), Morten Jørgensen as musical guests. Their most recent release is ''The Northern Sanctuary'' (2016). Dan Swanö
Dan-Erland Swanö (born 10 March 1973), also known as Dan "The Man" Swanö, is a Swedish musician and record producer who is currently the vocalist, guitarist, ex-bassist and ex-drummer for the band Nightingale, lately vocalist, keyboardist and drummer for the band Witherscape, as well as the owner of Unisound. He achieved fame as the vocalist and songwriter of progressive death metal band Edge of Sanity. As a multi-instrumentalist he is regarded as influential in the underground melodic death metal, black metal, progressive metal, death metal, progressive rock, and power metal communities. He is known for his progressive rock-influenced songwriting style and his frequent use of both clean and growled vocals. Paul Kuhr
Paul August Kuhr, III (born December 4, 1971, in Berwyn, Illinois, USA), is an American musician, vocalist, lyricist, author, and graphic designer. He is the singer and founding member for the band Novembers Doom. Music Starting the band in 1989, his vocal style for Novembers Doom consists both of clean vocals and death growls. Other projects Kuhr has been involved in vary from thrash metal in the 1980s in the form of Laceration (with fellow founding Novembers Doom member Steve Nicholson), to the late symphonic doom band Em Sinfonia. He was also in the band Subterranean Masquerade, where he used his growl, as well as his singing voice. Kuhr has also recorded his narrative vocals on the Draconian CD, Turning Season Within, and provided backing vocals on the track "Praise the Lowered" on the album Deconstruction by Devin Townsend Project. Nightingale (band)
Nightingale is a Swedish rock music, rock band from Örebro Municipality, Örebro. History Nightingale began in 1995 as a solo project of Dan Swanö, designed to explore his brief fascination with more of a cleanly-sung rock style evident on Edge of Sanity tracks such as "Sacrificed". The first album ''The Breathing Shadow'' was recorded and mastered by Swanö alone in the space of a week at his home Unisound Studios, Unisound studio, and has been described by some as a tribute to goth rock band The Sisters of Mercy. The second album ''The Closing Chronicles'' was recorded in April 1996 with his brother Dag acting as producer and contributing some guitar parts. Melodic Death Metal
Melodic death metal (also referred to as melodeath) is a subgenre of death metal that employs highly melodic guitar riffs, often borrowing from traditional heavy metal (including New Wave of British Heavy Metal). The genre features the heaviness of death metal but with highly melodic or harmonized guitar riffs and solos, and often features high-pitched shrieked vocals (differing from traditional death metal) alongside the low-pitched growls commonly featured in traditional death metal. Morten Jørgensen (born 23 June 1985 in Næstved, Denmark) is a Danish former lightweight rower. He won a gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Lightweight coxless fours together with Thomas Ebert, Eskild Ebbesen, and Mads Andersen. Morten Jørgensen was a substitute for the crew, the Gold Four, going into the 2008 Summer Olympics. One and a half months before the event he substituted for Bo Helleberg who was injured.
