Wisła Tczew
Wisła Tczew is a Polish professional football and boxing club based in Tczew, Kociewie, Poland. Founded in 1924, the club has traditionally worn a white and red strip for both home and away appearances. The club takes its name from the Polish word for the Vistula which runs through Tczew. History The club was first established as the Wisła Bowling Club in 1924, while its football section was founded in 1927. Klasa B represents the eighth (or ninth in some regions) level of the Polish football hierarchy. Teams promoted from Klasa B move up to Klasa A, whilst relegated teams descend to the Klasa C Klasa C represents the ninth and lowest level of the Polish football hierarchy. Marek Kowalczyk
Marek Kowalczyk (born 28 June 1961) is a Polish former professional footballer who played as a forward. Born in Kołobrzeg, Kowalczyk started his footballing career with Wisła Tczew, rising through the youth teams before playing for the first team. He is mostly known for his spell with Lechia Gdańsk with whom he won the Polish Cup, the Polish Super Cup, and became Lechia's first ever goalscorer in a European competition scoring against Juventus, all three achieved in 1983. In total Kowalczyk spent 5 seasons with Lechia, winning promotion from the third tier to the top tier during his short spell. He played a total of 116 games and scored 20 goals in all competitions. Morski Związkowy Klub Sportowy Arka Gdynia () is a professional football club based in Gdynia, Poland, that plays in the Ekstraklasa after winning the 2024–25 I liga. The club was founded as Klub Sportowy Gdynia in 1929. Tricity Derby
The Tricity Derby () is the name given to football matches between Arka Gdynia and Lechia Gdańsk, the two biggest teams in the Tricity area in Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland. The derby splits the Tricity area, with Arka representing Gdynia, the northern part of the Tricity, while Lechia represent Gdańsk which covers the southern part of the Tricity. The first meeting between the two clubs was in 1964, and has been contested a total of 45 times since then. Despite both teams having featured in the Ekstraklasa throughout their history, the first meeting between the two teams in the top flight happened in 2008. Lechia have been the more successful of the two teams, winning 17 of the contests compared to Arka's 12. Jerzy Sionek
Jerzy Sionek (born 30 October 1939) is a former Polish footballer who played as a midfielder. Life Sionek started his career playing with Polonia Iłża, playing at an early age, and playing some part of Polonia's promotion from the fifth tier in 1953. Over the following seasons he played for Polonia in the IV liga, helping the team to record high finishes in the league. It is known that at some point Sionek moved to Gdańsk and started playing with RKS Stocznia Północna, playing a role in the team's promotion to the III liga. In 1963 Sionek joined Lechia Gdańsk, making his debut in the Polish Cup against Sparta Gryfice. His time with Lechia was the pinacle of his career, with Sionek making 63 appearances in the II liga over the span of three seasons. Biography Born in Gdańsk, Rojek started playing with his local team Lechia Gdańsk. After progressing through the Lechia youth teams he made his senior debut on 4 October 1989 against Igloopol Dębica. Marcin Mięciel (born 22 December 1975) is a Polish former professional footballer who played as a striker. His trademark was the bicycle kick. Career Born in Gdynia, Mięciel started his football career at Wisła Tczew for which he played until 1990. The next stop in his career was Lechia Gdańsk. In December 1993 he transferred to Hutnik Warsaw, but after only six months he moved on to local rivals Legia Warsaw where he played until 2001, only interrupted by a half-year loan to ŁKS Łódź in 1995). After a disappointing season at Borussia Mönchengladbach Mięciel went on to Greece. His first stop was Iraklis. After two and a half seasons, he moved to local rivals PAOK. He scored five goals in 13 games till the end of the 2004–05 season. In his second season, he scored five times in 25 matches.
