Winterfylleth is an English black metal band from Manchester. Since their inception in 2006, the band has released seven studio albums and have become a popular act in both the English underground metal scene and the wider international metal arena. Winterfylleth are self-described as "English Heritage Black Metal" and are often considered to be musical 'brothers-in-arms' with fellow English black metal band Wodensthrone owing to the common lyrical and aesthetic themes they share. The band takes its name from the Old English word 'Winterfylleth', which translates into modern English as 'Winter Full Moon' and is signified by the arrival of the first full moon of winter. History Formed in 2006, and releasing a demo (''Rising of the Winter Full Moon'') in 2007, Winterfylleth rapidly gained attention in the metal underground, earning them a record deal with Profound Lore Records on which they released their debut 2008 album '' The Ghost of Heritage''. Enslaved (band)
Enslaved is a Norwegian extreme metal band formed by Ivar Bjørnson and Grutle Kjellson in Haugesund in 1991. They are currently based in Bergen. The band's lineup has changed many times over the years, with Bjørnson and Kjellson being the sole constant members. The current lineup also includes lead guitarist Arve Isdal, keyboardist/singer Håkon Vinje, and drummer Iver Sandøy. The band's music draws heavily on the Viking cultural and religious heritage of their home country of Norway for inspiration, and most of the band's lyrics relate to Norse mythology. Though they began as a traditional black metal band, their sound has undergone significant changes over time resulting in a more progressive sound. In 2014, members of Enslaved were commissioned by the Norwegian government to create a musical piece in celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Norwegian constitution. This was later released as a studio album called ''Skuggsjá'' (lit: Shadow watch) in 2016. To date, th ...

The Dark Hereafter
''The Dark Hereafter'' is the fifth studio album by the English black metal band Winterfylleth, released on 30 September 2016 through Candlelight Records. Music and lyrics ''The Dark Hereafter'' is the fifth studio album by the English black metal band Winterfylleth. It consists of five tracks of which three are new. "Pariah's Path" had been a bonus track in the digipak version of the band's previous album, '' The Divination of Antiquity''. "Led Astray in the Forest Dark" is a cover and English translation of Ulver's song "I troldskog faren vild" from the 1995 album '' Bergtatt – Et eeventyr i 5 capitler''. It was a deliberate choice to have fewer but longer songs than on previous albums, allowing Winterfylleth to write songs with more layers and build-up over time. The tracks are less influenced by folk music than usual for Winterfylleth, although this was not a conscious choice. It was Winterfylleth's first album with the guitarist Dan Capp who replaced Mark Wood. Release Can ...

The Divination Of Antiquity
''The Divination of Antiquity'' is the fourth studio album by the English black metal band Winterfylleth, released on 6 October 2014 through Candlelight Records. Music and lyrics ''The Divination of Antiquity'' is the fourth studio album by the English black metal band Winterfylleth. According to the band's singer Chris Naughton, the band members invested more time in writing the songs than they had for the previous albums, creating many versions of the songs and rearranging them multiple times. The album's title is meant as an encouragement to study history and learn from experience in order to not repeat previous mistakes. It ties in with an overall message about cyclical history and an understanding of contemporary times as characterised by monetary rule and exploitation. Release Candlelight Records released ''The Divination of Antiquity'' on 6 October 2014. The cover art continues Winterfylleth's habit of displaying English landscapes, in this case a photograph by Winterfyllet ...

Primordial (band)
Primordial are an Irish extreme metal band from Skerries, Dublin, Skerries, County Dublin. The band was formed in 1993 by bassist Pól MacAmhlaigh and guitarist Ciarán MacUiliam. Their sound blends black metal with Celtic music. History The band's roots stretch back to 1987 when Pól and Ciarán first began playing together with Pól's brother, Derek. The band (who were called Forsaken for a brief period) initially played a rough, hybrid mix of early, primitive thrash metal, thrash and death metal (playing covers of Death (metal band), Death, Sepultura and the like). Vocalist Alan Averill, Nemtheanga joined the band after seeing an advertisement for a singer in Dublin specialist metal store The Sound Cellar in 1991. Folk Music
Folk music is a music genre that includes #Traditional folk music, traditional folk music and the Contemporary folk music, contemporary genre that evolved from the former during the 20th-century folk revival. Some types of folk music may be called world music. Traditional folk music has been defined in several ways: as music transmitted orally, music with unknown composers, music that is played on traditional instruments, music about cultural or national identity, music that changes between generations (folk process), music associated with a people's folklore, or music performed by Convention (norm), custom over a long period of time. It has been contrasted with popular music, commercial and art music, classical styles. The term originated in the 19th century, but folk music extends beyond that. Starting in the mid-20th century, a new form of popular folk music evolved from traditional folk music. This process and period is called the (second) folk revival and reached a zenith ...

Cover Versions
In popular music, a cover version, cover song, remake, revival, or simply cover is a new performance or recording by a musician other than the original performer or composer of the song. Originally, it referred to a version of a song released around the same time as the original in order to compete with it. Now, it refers to any subsequent version performed after the original. History The term "cover" goes back decades when cover version originally described a rival version of a tune recorded to compete with the recently released (original) version. Examples of records covered include Paul Williams' 1949 hit tune " The Hucklebuck" and Hank Williams' 1952 song " Jambalaya". Both crossed over to the popular hit parade and had numerous hit versions. Before the mid-20th century, the notion of an original version of a popular tune would have seemed slightly odd – the production of musical entertainment was seen as a live event, even if it was reproduced at home via a co ...

Drudkh
Drudkh is a Ukrainian black metal band. It currently consists of Roman Saenko (of Hate Forest and formerly of Dark Ages), Thurios (former member of Astrofaes and Hate Forest), Krechet, and Vlad. All four also were members of Blood of Kingu until it was disbanded. Their lyrics and artistic themes embrace Slavic mythology and Ukrainian nationalism. Many of the band's lyrics are derived from the works of nineteenth and twentieth-century Ukrainian poets (Oleksandr Oles, Oleh Olzhych, Maik Yohansen, etc.) and especially Taras Shevchenko. Drudkh have been particularly secretive throughout the course of their career, even for a black metal band, giving no interviews and not releasing the lyrics to several of their albums. From their conception until 2009, Drudkh did not have any official website, but in May 2009, Season of Mist launched an official Myspace, operated by the label rather than the band. The word "drudkh" is derived from the Sanskrit word for "forest" or "tree". Histo ...

The groove usually starts near the outside edge and ends near the center of the disc. The stored sound information is made audible by playing the record on a phonograph (or "gramophone", "turntable", or "record player"). For about half a century, the discs were commonly made from shellac and these records typically ran at a rotational speed of 78 rpm, giving it the nickname "78s" ("seventy-eights"). After the 1940s, "vinyl" records made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) became standard replacing the old 78s and remain so to this day; they have since been produced in various sizes and speeds, mos ...
