''Wing Commander Academy'' is a 1996 United States, American animated television series produced by Universal Cartoon Studios, along with a team led by Larry Latham. The show was based on the Wing Commander (franchise), Wing Commander franchise and loosely served as a prequel to ''Wing Commander (video game), Wing Commander''. The show's aired from September 21 to December 21, 1996, on the USA Network's "USA Action Extreme Team" block. USA Action Extreme Team
''USA Action Extreme Team'' was a children's television programming block on USA Network from 1995 to 1998. The block aired on Sunday mornings, but it later expanded to weekday mornings beginning in 1996 and took over the USA Cartoon Express block's timeslots as a result. The block ended on September 11, 1998, when the network permanently removed children's programming. Wing Commander I
''Wing Commander'' is the first game in Chris Roberts' space flight simulation ''Wing Commander'' franchise by Origin Systems. The game was first released for MS-DOS on September 26, 1990, and was later ported to the Amiga, CD32 ( 256-color), Sega CD and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and re-released for the PC as ''Wing Commander I'' in 1994. An enhanced remake ''Super Wing Commander'' was made for the 3DO in 1994, and later ported to the Macintosh. Two expansion packs for the game were released: ''Wing Commander: The Secret Missions'' in November 1990 and ''Wing Commander: The Secret Missions 2: Crusade'' in March 1991. Andrew Lewis Prine (February 14, 1936 – October 31, 2022) was an American film, stage, and television actor. Early life Prine was born in 1936, in Jennings, Florida. He was raised in a farming community. Career Early beginnings In the mid-1950s, Prine was a "starving" stage actor in New York City.
