Windsor Grammar School
The Windsor Boys' School is a Comprehensive school (England and Wales), comprehensive all-boys upper school and sixth form located on Maidenhead Road in Windsor, Berkshire, England, within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Local Authority. The school specialises in the arts. History The school was previously known as both Windsor County Boys’ School and later Windsor Grammar School. The school was established in 1908, and school celebrated its 100th anniversary on 22 September 2008. In 1921, it introduced a house system, with each house named after LCJ Burnett, JR Lambdin, JA Ottrey and LF Woodland, boys who each attended the school and died during World War I. By 1922, the school age had increased to 18 for more academically able boys, and in 1923, the first set of University scholarships were achieved by the school. The Fawley Challenge Cup is a rowing event for junior boys quadruple sculls at the annual Henley Royal Regatta on the River Thames, at Henley-on-Thames in England, open to those who have not attained 18 years of age by 1 September of the year before the regatta and is open to individual crews from boat clubs and schools; an event offered for the first time at the 1992 Regatta. National Heritage Memorial Fund
The National Heritage Memorial Fund (NHMF) was set up in 1980 to save the most outstanding parts of the British national heritage, in memory of those who have given their lives for the UK. It replaced the National Land Fund, which had fulfilled the same function since 1946. It received £20 million Government grant in aid between 2011–2015, allowing for an annual budget of between £4 million and £5 million. Between 1980 and 2020, the NHMF spent £368 million. Nearly a third (over £106 million) was spent on buildings and monuments, and nearly £194 million was spent on paintings, furniture and other objects. Peter Luff
Sir Peter James Luff (born 18 February 1955) is a British former politician and previous Chair of the National Heritage Memorial Fund and the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Formerly a British Conservative Party politician, he was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Mid Worcestershire from 1997 to 2015 and for Worcester from 1992 until 1997. Martin Kemp (art Historian)
Martin John Kemp (born 5 March 1942) is a British art historian and exhibition curator who is one of the world's leading authorities on the life and works of Leonardo da Vinci. The author of many books on Leonardo, Kemp has also written about visualisation in art and science, particularly anatomy, natural sciences and optics. Extraordinary rendition is a euphemism, euphemistically-named policy of state-sponsored abduction in a foreign jurisdiction and transfer to a third state.
