George Winckelmann
George Arvid Winckelmann (24 August 1884 Oulu – 15 November 1962 Helsinki) was a Finnish lawyer and a diplomat. Winckelmann's parents were bank manager consul Henrik Winckelmann and Jenny Boström. He became a student from Lyseo Upper Secondary School, Oulu Lyceum in 1902 and studied at the University of Helsinki, completing a 1905 Master's degree and a 1906 jurisprudence. Winckelmann received the rank of Master Judge in 1910. Winckelmann served as the youngest legal adviser in Helsinki in 1912-1917 and in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs (Finland), Ministry of Foreign Affairs as First Secretary 1918 and as Head of Division 1922-1929. He served as Chargé d'Affaires in Tokyo from 1930 to 1933 and in Madrid and Lisbon since 1933. During the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) Winckelmann was in Lisbon. Hans Winckelmann
Johannes Gustav "Hans" Winckelmann (14 September 1881 – 9 October 1943) was a German operatic tenor and opera director. Life Born in Hamburg, the son of Wagner singer Hermann Winkelmann, whose grandfather was Christian Ludewig Theodor Winkelmann, founder of the Braunschweig piano factory . Other ancestors included Johann Joachim Winckelmann, Hans was trained by his father to play Wagnerian tenor and studied in Vienna, where he obtained a doctorate in philosophy. He began his career as a singer at the Vienna Volksoper and then became first tenor at the Prague Opera, later in Schwerin. In his Schwerin period he made three films in Berlin in 1921 and 1922 and finally in Hanover, where he also directed about six operas a year with Rudolf Krasselt. Until his death in 1943 or only until his removal from office by the Nazis he was head conductor at the opera house in Hannover. He also wrote a book with the title ''Der Opernspieler''. Johann Just Winckelmann, also Johann Justus Winckelmann (19 August 1620 – 3 July 1699) was a German writer, historian and mnemonist. Under his pseudonym Stanislaus Mink von Weunßhein (also Wenusheim, Winusheim) he is known for having introduced a mnemonic system, the Major System (also called phonetic system or phonetic mnemonic system), used for memorizing numbers. Maria Margaretha Kirch (''née'' Winckelmann, in historic sources named Maria Margaretha Kirchin; 25 February 1670 – 29 December 1720) was a German people, German astronomer. She was one of the first famous astronomers of her period due to her writing on the conjunction of the sun with Saturn, Venus, and Jupiter in 1709 and 1712 respectively. Early life Maria was educated from an early age by her father, a Lutheran minister (Christianity), minister, who believed that she deserved an education equivalent to that given to young boys. By the age of 13 she had lost both her father and mother. It was produced in Rome and represents the famous archaeologist and art historian Johann Joachim Winckelmann, whose work greatly contributed to the revival of classical studies and the change in style from rococo to neoclassicism.
