Wilson Hall was a New Zealand rugby league footballer who played in the 1920s and 1930s who represented New Zealand national rugby league team, New Zealand and later played at club level in England for Hull FC, Castleford Tigers, Castleford and Dewsbury Rams, Dewsbury. Wilson Hall (Bucksport, Maine)
Wilson Hall is a historic Methodist seminary building on Franklin Street in Bucksport, Maine. Built in 1850-51 by the Eastern Maine Methodist Conference, it housed East Maine Conference Seminary, which was the only Methodist seminary in eastern Maine, and was the only seminary in Hancock County. Of the two surviving buildings of the seminary, this is the finest, a handsome Greek Revival structure that is a distinctive local landmark. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. Description and history Wilson Hall is set on the north side of Franklin Street on the outskirts of Bucksport village, just west of a cemetery fronting on McDonald Street. Wilson Hall is a historic dormitory building on the campus of Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas. It is located on the west side of North El Paso Street, just north of West M Street. It is a large two-story brick building with Colonial Revival styling, consisting of a central block, from which symmetrical wings extend forward from its ends, ending in slightly wider "houses". It was built in 1925, during a period of expansion in which the school, then the Second District Agricultural School, began offering four-year degree programs. Wilson Hall, also known as The Pines, was a dormitory building on the campus of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Built in 1926 and known before 1986 as "The Pines," The building was originally an annex to a sanatorium known as The Oxford Retreat, and was sold to the university in 1936 for use as a women's dorm. The hall rotated between a men's and women's dorm for most of its existence. The building became disused during the 2015-16 school year, and the university finalized plans in February 2019 to demolish the building that summer to create green space. History The building that became Wilson Hall was originally part of The Oxford Retreat, a private hospital "for the treatment of mental and nervous diseases, alcoholic, and narcotic inebriety". God's Pottery is a New York City faux-Christian acoustic music and comedy duo. Its members are Wilson Hall (as "Jeremiah Smallchild") and Krister Johnson (as "Gideon Lamb"). They are both from New York City. Background The duo often would just mess around and make up fake bands. While Hall was on vacation he came up with a Christian band idea and wrote some funny song titles. Before they knew it they were writing lyrics and began performing in rooms in downtown NYC. Career Initially the idea was to goof around, but quickly comedians like Eugene Mirman and the Upright Citizens Brigade invited the duo to perform on their shows. They made the act into an hour long show and traveled to Edinburgh Festival Fringe and signed with Mirman's manager. God's Pottery appeared on the sixth season of the NBC reality show ''Last Comic Standing''. Shadow Lawn is a historic building on the campus of Monmouth University in West Long Branch, Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. Built in 1927 for Hubert T. Parson, president of the F.W. Woolworth Company, it was one of the last large estate houses to be built before the Great Depression. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1985 for its architecture. Architecture Shadow Lawn is a large masonry building, three stories in height, with a main facade that is over wide. A three-bay section projects at the center of the main (south) facade, with a Doric columned single-story portico at its front. A dentillated cornice separates the second and third floors, and a balustrade surrounds the roof, with sculptures mounted on some of the corner columns.
