Willie James Pye
Willie James Pye (January 6, 1965 – March 20, 2024) was an American convicted murderer who murdered his ex-girlfriend Alicia Lynn Yarbrough after he kidnapped and raped her with two accomplices originally committing a robbery at the home of Yarbrough's boyfriend in 1993. He was executed in March 2024. Pye, who was convicted and sentenced to death three years after the crime, remained on death row for nearly 30 years before he was put to death via lethal injection on March 20, 2024. His case became a point of controversy due to the alleged inadequate legal representation he received during the trial, which allegedly left out details of Pye's troubled childhood and other mitigating factors that may have spared his life. Donnie Cleveland Lance (December 23, 1953 – January 29, 2020) was an American convicted murderer who was executed by the state of Georgia on January 29, 2020. He was convicted of killing his ex-wife, Sabrina Lance, and her boyfriend, Dwight Wood Jr. Murders The murders of Sabrina Lance, 39, and Dwight Wood, 33, occurred shortly before midnight on November 8, 1997. Lance arrived at Wood's home and kicked in the front door. He then shot Wood in the front and back with a shotgun. Afterward, he beat Sabrina Lance to death with the same shotgun. Lance had a history of abusing Sabrina, including strangling her, beating her, and threatening to kill her. He once attempted to strangle her and also tried to electrocute her with a car battery. Michael Dewayne Smith (June 24, 1982 – April 4, 2024), also known as the Hoover Killer, was an American serial killer who was Capital punishment in Oklahoma, sentenced to death for the murders of two people at different locations in Oklahoma City on February 22, 2002.
