William Moore (Ardee MP)
Hon. William Moore ( – 1 April 1732) was an Irish politician. He sat in the Irish House of Commons from 1715 to 1727 as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the borough of Ardee (Parliament of Ireland constituency), Ardee in County Louth. He was the fifth son of Henry Hamilton-Moore, 3rd Earl of Drogheda. Irish House Of Commons
The Irish House of Commons was the lower house of the Parliament of Ireland that existed from 1297 until the end of 1800. The upper house was the Irish House of Lords, House of Lords. The membership of the House of Commons was directly elected, but on a highly restrictive franchise, similar to the unreformed House of Commons in contemporary Great Britain. Ardee (Parliament Of Ireland Constituency)
Ardee was a constituency represented in the Irish House of Commons from 1378 to 1801. History Ardee in County Louth was enfranchised as a borough constituency in 1378. In 1665 the Lord Lieutenant (James Butler, 1st Duke of Ormonde) wrote to the Portreeve of Ardee recommending Sir Robert Byron, as Burgess in Parliament for Ardee, in the room of Captain John Chambers, "removed" and Colonel Brent Moore, in the "stead of Lieutenant John Ruxton, removed". In the Patriot Parliament of 1689 summoned by King James II, Ardee was represented by two members. It continued to send two Members of Parliament to the Irish House of Commons until the Parliament of Ireland was merged into the Parliament of the United Kingdom on 1 January 1801. Michael Tisdall
Michael Tisdall (1730–1788) was Archdeacon of Ross from 1781 to 1788. Tisdall was the son of the Reverend George Tisdall and Frances Canning. His mother was of the same family as Baron Garvagh and the statesman George Canning, and his father, through his grandmother Frances Fitzgerald, was a distant cousin of the Earl of Kildare. He was born in Dublin and educated at Trinity College there. He was ordained on 15 November 1753 and began his ecclesiastical career with a curacy at his father's church, St Mary, Shandon. After another curacy at Ballymoney he held livings at Kinneagh, Kilmaloda, Tullagh, Creagh. He was Vicar choral of Cork Cathedral from 1778 to 1781; and Prebendary of Dromdaleague in 1781. He married Elizabeth Farran, daughter of Thomas Farran. His son Fitzgerald Tisdall was Rector of Kilmoe. Robert Parkinson (1694 – 14 February 1761) was an Irish Member of Parliament. Called to the Irish Bar in 1720, he was elected to the Irish House of Commons for the borough of Ardee in November 1727, sitting until 1760. He married Diana Peppard and their only child Elizabeth was born in 1729. She married Charles Ruxton of Ardee House, and Parkinson's estate of Red House in Ardee passed to their son William Parkinson Ruxton William Parkinson Ruxton (1766 – 11 October 1847) of Red House in County Louth was an Irish Member of Parliament. John Donnellan (politician)
John F. Donnellan (born 27 March 1937) is an Irish former politician and sportsman. He served as a Fine Gael Teachta Dála (TD) for twenty-five years and as a Minister of State from 1982 to 1987. He played Gaelic football for his local club Dunmore McHales and at senior level for the Galway county team in the 1960s. Early and private life John Donnellan was born in Dunmore, County Galway in 1937. He was born into a family that had strong interests in both Gaelic games and Irish politics. His father, Michael Donnellan, had won an All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (SFC) medal with Galway in 1925, later becoming a TD for Clann na Talmhan. John Donnellan would go on to follow in his father's footsteps in both of these pursuits, although for a different party.
