William F. Mcgee
Edward M. Fuller & Company was a prominent New York stock brokerage. Founded in 1914 and owned by the sole partners William Frank McGee and Edward M. Fuller, by 1922 it was the largest brokerage on the Little Board. The firm went bankrupt in 1922, resulting in a high-profile legal case and indictments against the former partners. William Hayward (American Attorney)
William Hayward (April 29, 1877 – October 13, 1944) was an American lawyer and commander of the Harlem Hellfighters during World War I. Early life and education Hayward was born on April 29, 1877 in Nebraska City, Nebraska, the son of Nebraska Senator Monroe Hayward and Jane Pelton. He graduated from Nebraska City High School in 1893. After high school, Hayward attended the University of Nebraska, where he was prominent in athletics and a member of Phi Delta Theta. Fuller Case
''E. M. Fuller and Co. bankruptcy trial'', or the ''Fuller case'', was a criminal trial referring to the prosecution of Edward M. Fuller and William F. McGee for using their brokerage firm E. M. Fuller and Co. as a " bucket shop" in the early 1920s. United States Attorney William Hayward was assisted in the case by assistant US Attorney John E. Joyce. The case started when the firm went bankrupt in 1922, and creditors petitioned to recover assets from E. M. Fuller & Co., as the assets "mysteriously disappeared" when the firm went bankrupt. Ultimately Fuller and McGee pled guilty, and were convicted of operating a bucketshop in connection with E.M. Fuller Co., for defrauding its customers around $4,000,000 by bucketing the orders of customers. Albert Ottinger
Albert E. Ottinger (September 10, 1878 – January 13, 1938) was an American lawyer and politician. Life and career Ottinger was born in Manhattan, New York City, the son of Moses Ottinger and Amelia Gottlieb Ottinger. He graduated from New York University Law School in 1898 and became an attorney in New York City. He was a member of the New York State Senate (18th District) in 1917 and 1918; and then an assistant attorney general of the United States. As such, Ottinger ruled that the U.S. Congress could grant independence to the Philippines if it wished, since the Philippines were an "insular possession" and therefore to be distinguished from the United States' states and territorial possessions.
