William José Bergolla (; born February 4, 1983, in Valencia, Carabobo, Venezuela) is a former Major League Baseball second baseman. Bergolla was signed by the Cincinnati Reds as a non-drafted free agent in and made his major league debut on May 9, . He bats and throws right-handed. Bergolla was rated among the best prospects in the Reds organization, according to Baseball America. For three consecutive years (2002–04), Bergolla led all Reds Minor league baseball, minor leaguers in stolen bases. Carolina League
The Carolina League is a Minor League Baseball league which has operated along the Atlantic Coast of the United States since 1945. Having been classified at various levels throughout its existence, it operated at Class A-Advanced from 1990 until its demotion to Single-A following Major League Baseball's 2021 reorganization of the minor leagues. A run batted in or runs batted in (RBI) is a statistic in baseball and softball that credits a batter for making a play that allows a run to be scored (except in certain situations such as when an error is made on the play). The International League (IL) is a Minor League Baseball league that operates in the United States. Along with the Pacific Coast League, it is one of two leagues playing at the Triple-A (baseball), Triple-A level, which is one grade below Major League Baseball (MLB).
