Willard Straight Hall
Willard Straight Hall is the student union building on the central campus of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. It is located on Campus Road, adjacent to the Ho Plaza and Cornell Health. History 19th century Willard Straight Hall's construction was initiated by Willard Straight's widow, Dorothy Payne Whitney as a memorial to her husband. The building was intended to lead to "the enrichment of the human contacts of student life," according to remarks given by Straight at the hall's dedication. Cornell historian Corey Earle notes that, at the time, "it was unusual to have a building with no academic purpose." WVBR
WVBR-FM (93.5 FM) is a student-owned and volunteer-run college radio station in Ithaca, New York. It airs an alternative rock format on weekdays with talk and variety programs on weekends. It is owned by a non-profit organization, the Cornell Media Guild. The station is supported by commercial advertisements but it also seeks donations on the air and on its website. The studios and offices are on East Buffalo Street in the Collegetown district of Ithaca. WVBR-FM is a Class A FM station. It has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 3,800 watts. The Cornell University Graduate School is a graduate school at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. It confers most of the university's professional and research master's and doctoral degrees. The departments under which instruction and research take place are housed in Cornell's other schools and colleges. The administrative offices for the Graduate School are located in Caldwell Hall, on the Ag Quad. For decades, the Graduate School was housed in Sage Hall which also included social areas and dormitory rooms for graduate students. The Graduate School does not have a faculty. The College of Architecture, Art, and Planning (AAP) is the school of architecture at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Ezra Winter
Ezra Augustus Winter (March 10, 1886 – April 6, 1949) was a prominent American muralist. Biography Winter was born in Traverse City, Michigan, trained at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts in 1908, and the American Academy in Rome in 1914. Winter became extremely successful and commanded high prices for his work. In 1924 he taught at the Grand Central School of Art. Winter studied art at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and was a fellow in visual arts at the American Academy in Rome in 1914. Gothic Revival (also referred to as Victorian Gothic or neo-Gothic) is an Architectural style, architectural movement that after a gradual build-up beginning in the second half of the 17th century became a widespread movement in the first half of the 19th century, mostly in England.
