Will Wand
Will Wand (born 31 December 2001) is an English professional rugby union player for Coventry in the RFU Championship. His usual position is centre, but he can also play on the wing. Early life Wand joined Spalding RFC at the age of 4 and progressed through the age ranks. He also attended Spalding Grammar School before leaving for Brooksby Melton College to continue playing in the ACE league. Personal life Wand has a younger brother, Tom, who currently plays in the Leicester Tigers academy as a loosehead prop. Career Cambridge Wand made his debut for Cambridge in September 2021, after signing for the club a month prior, in a National League 1 match against Rams RFC at 19 years old. Spalding, Lincolnshire
Spalding () is a market town on the River Welland in the South Holland district of Lincolnshire, England. The town had a population of 31,588 at the 2011 census. The town is the administrative centre of the South Holland District. The town is located between the cities of Peterborough and Lincoln, as well as the towns of Bourne, March, Boston, Wisbech, Holbeach and Sleaford. The town was well known for the annual Spalding Flower Parade, held from 1959 to 2013. The RFU Championship Cup is an annual rugby union competition introduced by the Rugby Football Union (RFU) in 2018 to provide a cup competition for English second tier clubs playing in the RFU Championship, following the disbanding of the British and Irish Cup at the end of the 2017–18 season. Bedford Blues are a rugby union club in the town of Bedford, England, currently playing in The RFU Championship. Bedford is one of the few towns in England where the rugby club is better supported than the football team. The Blues are a semi-pro team, with a mix of experienced and young players. The Blues are coached by Mike Rayer. History Foundation and 19th century Bedford RUFC was founded in 1886 after an amalgamation between Bedford Rovers (1876) and Bedford Swifts (1882). National League 1
National One (last season known as National League 1 and previously known before September 2009 as National Division Two), is the third of three national leagues in the domestic rugby union competition of England. It was known as Courage League National Division Three when founded in 1987. Caldy are the current champions. The Rugby Football Union (RFU) approved a new structure for the National Leagues from the 2022–23 season. This division will be reduced to fourteen teams, playing each other on a home and away basis to make a total of 26 matches each. The champions are promoted to the RFU Championship and the bottom three teams are relegated to either National Two East, National Two North or National Two West depending on the geographical location of the team.
