Wilhelm Vigier
Josef Wilhelm Viktor Vigier (27 August 1823, in Solothurn – 18 March 1886) was a Swiss politician and President of the Swiss Council of States The Council of States (german: Ständerat, french: Conseil des États, it, Consiglio degli Stati, rm, Cussegl dals Stadis) is the upper house of the Federal Assembly of Switzerland, with the National Council being the lower house. It comp ... (1862/1863 and 1882/1883). Vigier was also a judge of the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland (1858–1874). He presided the court in 1864 and 1873. Walter Hauser (1 May 1837, in Wädenswil – 22 October 1902) was a Swiss politician and member of the Swiss Federal Council (1888–1902). He was elected to the Federal Council on 13 December 1888 and died in office on 22 October 1902. He was affiliated to the Free Democratic Party of Switzerland. Auguste Georges Adrien Cornaz (28 July 1834 – 13 May 1896) was a Swiss politician and President of the Swiss Council of States (1881/1882). Biography Background, education and early career Auguste Cornaz came from an affluent and influential Swiss family. His father was a pastor. He studied Law from 1852 until 1853 in Lausanne and from 1854 until 1855 in Munich. After his studies he was a professor for two years at the college of Moudon and was active afterwards as a translator for the Swiss Council until 1864. Afterwards he worked as editor for the radical newspaper "La Suisse". From 1857 until 1860 he was the editor-in-chief of "La Suisse". In 1859 he was part of a delegation led by Caspar Latour to Nepal as Secretary. This delegation was tasked with organizing the return of the four Swiss regiments in service of the Nepalese King back to Switzerland.
