Wilfred Johnson
Wilfred "Willie Boy" Johnson (September 29, 1935 – August 29, 1988) was a reputed American mobster. According to court documents and pretrial testimony, Johnson was a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) informant from 1966 to 1985, when he provided investigators with information relating to John Gotti and other members of the Gambino crime family. However, Johnson and his attorneys publicly disputed claims that he ever cooperated with investigators. Johnson was shot and killed as he walked to his car in Brooklyn. Early life Johnson had four siblings, raised in Canarsie, Brooklyn. In the Sicilian and American Mafia, a made man is a fully initiated member of the Mafia. In order to become eligible to be "made", an associate must fulfill several requirements, such as being Italian or of Italian descent and sponsored by another made man. James McBratney
James McBratney (November 17, 1941 – May 22, 1973) was an Irish-American gangster in New York City. After completing prison sentences for robbery and weapon convictions, witnesses implicated him in a series of 1972–1973 kidnappings-for-ransom of organized crime figures, including Carlo Gambino's nephew Emanuel Gambino and airport extortionist Frank Manzo. In retaliation, Gambino associate Ralph Galione shot McBratney to death in a bar near his Staten Island home; Galione himself was murdered a few months later. Angelo Ruggiero
Angelo Salvatore Ruggiero Sr. (; July 29, 1940 – December 4, 1989), also known as "Quack Quack", was an American gangster. He was a member of the Gambino crime family and a friend of John Gotti's. After Gotti became leader of the family he made Ruggiero a caporegime. During John Gotti's pretrial detention for a state case, which Gotti eventually won, Ruggiero acted as his liaison with the crime family. During a court hearing, he cursed and argued with the judge, resulting in his imprisonment alongside Gotti. This incident effectively ended any opportunity he had to become Gotti's underboss. The Lucchese crime family's Brooklyn faction is a group of Italian-American mobsters within the Lucchese crime family that control organized crime activities in the New York metropolitan area but are predominantly based out of Brooklyn and Staten Island. Vigorish (also called the cut, the house edge, juice, the margin, the take, under-juice, or the vig) is the fee charged by a bookmaker for accepting a gambler's wager. Paul Vario
Paul Vario (July 10, 1914 – May 3, 1988) was an American mobster and made man in the Lucchese crime family. Vario was a caporegime and had his own crew of mobsters in Brooklyn, New York. Following the testimony of Henry Hill, Vario was convicted in 1984, of fraud, and sentenced to four years in prison, followed by a conviction for extortion in 1985, and an additional sentence of 10 years in prison.
