Wild Health Genomes
The Wild Health Genomes were an American professional baseball team based in Lexington, Kentucky. Founded in 2022, they are a member of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, an MLB Partner League. The Genomes are owned by the same group as the Lexington Legends and will share Wild Health Field with the Legends. Following the addition of the Staten Island FerryHawks as the ninth Atlantic League team, the Genomes were created to ensure an even number of teams for the 2022 season. This is the first time that an Atlantic League "filler" team has had a home stadium, as the Road Warriors were a travelling club during their intermittent stints in the league. Barring the transfer or folding of any current teams, the Genomes are expected to be replaced by a new club in Hagerstown, Maryland, for the 2024 season. Atlantic League Of Professional Baseball
The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) is a professional independent baseball league based in the United States. It is an official MLB Partner League based in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States. The Atlantic League's corporate headquarters is located at Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The Atlantic League operates in cities not served by Major League Baseball (MLB) or Minor League Baseball (MiLB) teams; most of its teams are within suburbs and exurbs too close to other teams in the organized baseball system to have minor league franchises of their own. Wild Health Field
Wild Health Field is a ballpark in Lexington, Kentucky. It is primarily used for baseball, and is the home field of the Lexington Legends and the Wild Health Genomes of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, an official Partner League of Major League Baseball. It was built in 2001. It holds 6,994 people. From 2001 until 2010, the stadium was named Applebee's Park. In January 2011, it was announced that the naming rights to the stadium had been bought by Whitaker Bank Corporation, and the stadium was renamed Whitaker Bank Ballpark. The deal ended in 2021. In February 2022, the Legends announced that the stadium would be renamed Wild Health Field following a new naming rights agreement with Wild Health, a Lexington-based health clinic specializing in genomics-based precision medicine and wellness. The Lexington Legends are an American professional baseball team based in Lexington, Kentucky. They are a member of the South Division of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, a "partner league" of Major League Baseball. The Staten Island FerryHawks are an American minor-league professional baseball team based in the New York City borough of Staten Island.
