Wild Beasts
Wild Beasts was an English indie rock band, formed in 2002 in Kendal. They released their first single, "Brave Bulging Buoyant Clairvoyants", on Bad Sneakers Records in November 2006, and subsequently signed to Domino Recording Company, Domino Records. They have released five acclaimed albums, ''Limbo, Panto'' in 2008, ''Two Dancers'' in 2009, ''Smother (album), Smother'' in 2011, ''Present Tense (Wild Beasts album), Present Tense'' in 2014 and ''Boy King'' in 2016. ''Two Dancers'' was nominated for the Mercury Prize. Kendal
Kendal, once Kirkby in Kendal or Kirkby Kendal, is a market town and civil parish in the unitary authority of Westmorland and Furness, England. It lies within the River Kent's dale, from which its name is derived, just outside the boundary of the Lake District National Park. Diviner (album)
''Diviner'' is the debut studio album by English musician Hayden Thorpe. It was released on 24 May 2019 by Domino Recording Company. ''Diviner'' is the first solo work from Thorpe since the dissolution of Wild Beasts, a band which Thorpe was a member of for over fifteen years. The album was written by Hayden Thorpe in Los Angeles, London, Kendal, and Cornwall. It was recorded over the course of 2018 with producer and close friend Leo Abrahams at Thorpe's London flat and at Abrahams' studio in Cornwall. The album's musical style is more stripped down compared to Thorpe's previous work. It was preceded by the singles "Diviner", "Love Crimes", and "Earthly Needs". Rockaway Beach Festival
Rockaway Beach is an annual music festival in England, held at the Butlin's holiday resort in Bognor Regis. It was founded by Ian Crowther in 2015, devised as a live mixtape that would differ from other festivals by having as few stage time clashes as possible, compared to other festivals. The festival has previously seen appearances from some of the world's biggest touring live acts including Gary Numan, Echo and the Bunnymen, Killing Joke, and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. The festival is uniquely held in an English seaside town in the middle of winter, being the first weekend of each January. It is noted as the only major music festival that was able to take place in 2020 due to following events being cancelled during the covid pandemic, and also for being the first music festival headlined by both Fontaines DC and Porridge Radio. Sky Larkin
Sky Larkin is an English indie rock band from Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, who formed in 2005. Early history In common with many bands from Leeds, Sky Larkin released two singles on the Leeds-based label Dance To The Radio. Songs of theirs appeared on Dance To The Radio compilation albums 'Something I Learned Today' and 'Out Of The Woods And Trees', the former featuring 'Summit' and the latter featuring the Napoleon IIIrd remix of 'Keepsakes' In both 2006 and 2007 they appeared on the unsigned stage at the Leeds Festival. During this time they would play around the UK on bills with the likes of Los Campesinos!, Nosferatu D2, Johnny Foreigner, Wild Beasts and others.
