Wilbert Olinde
Wilbert Louis Olinde Jr. (born July 23, 1955) is an American-German retired professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the UCLA Bruins, winning a national championship in 1975. Career Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Olinde attended Crawford High School, before transferring to Helix High School in La Mesa, California, in 1971. Olinde averaged 19 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks as a senior and led the Highlanders to a Grossmont League title. He was named the 1973 CIF San Diego Section Player of the Year. Olinde played college basketball at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) from 1973 to 1977. Louis Franklin Olinde (born 19 March 1998) is a German professional basketball player for Alba Berlin of the German Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) and the EuroLeague. Standing at , Olinde plays at both the small forward and power forward positions. His father Wilbert Olinde won the 1975 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament with UCLA and took his game to Germany following his collegiate career. Career Olinde's career began in the youth ranks of BC Hamburg. He joined the Piraten Hamburg organization in 2011 to compete in the JBBL, Germany's under-16 division. George Terence Schofield (born June 16, 1948) is an American former basketball player and coach. He played college basketball with the UCLA Bruins, winning three national championships (1969–1971) under Coach John Wooden. Schofield played professionally in Germany, where he later became a basketball coach. He also became an English lecturer for a German university. 1975 NCAA Division I Basketball Tournament
The 1975 NCAA Division I basketball tournament involved 32 schools playing in single-elimination play to determine the national champion of men's NCAA Division I college basketball. It began on March 15, 1975, and ended with the championship game on March 31 at the San Diego Sports Arena, now known as Pechanga Arena San Diego, in San Diego, California. A total of 36 games were played, including a third-place game in each region and a national third-place game. This was the first 32-team tournament. UCLA, coached by John Wooden, won his 10th and last national title with a 92–85 victory in the final game over Kentucky, coached by Joe B. Hall. Richard Washington of UCLA was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. The Bruins again had an advantage by playing the Final Four in their home state.
