Wiener Peaks
Wiener Peaks () is a group of nunataks 5 nautical miles (9 km) northeast of Mount Passel in the Ford Ranges, Marie Byrd Land. Discovered on aerial flights over this area by the United States Antarctic Service (USAS) (1939–41) and named for Murray A. Wiener, auroral observer at West Base during this expedition. The northernmost peak is Greer Peak. Nunatak
A nunatak (from Inuit ''nunataq'') is the summit or ridge of a mountain that protrudes from an ice field or glacier that otherwise covers most of the mountain or ridge. They are also called glacial islands. Examples are natural pyramidal peaks. When rounded by glacial action, smaller rock promontories may be referred to as rognons. The word is of Greenlandic origin and has been used in English since the 1870s. Mount Passel
Mount Passel () is a ridgelike mountain 4 nautical miles (7 km) north of the Swanson Mountains in the Ford Ranges, Marie Byrd Land. Passel Pond lies at the southwest foot of the mountain. Discovered in December 1940 by members of a geological party of the United States Antarctic Service (USAS) which visited this area, and named for Charles F. Ford Ranges
The Ford Ranges () are a grouping of mountain ranges standing east of Sulzberger Ice Shelf and Block Bay in the northwest part of Marie Byrd Land, Antarctica. Marie Byrd Land
Marie Byrd Land (MBL) is an unclaimed region of Antarctica. With an area of , it is the largest unclaimed territory on Earth. It was named after the wife of American naval officer Richard E. Byrd, who explored the region in the early 20th century. The territory lies in West Antarctica, east of the Ross Ice Shelf and the Ross Sea and south of the Pacific Ocean portion of the Southern Ocean, extending eastward approximately to a line between the head of the Ross Ice Shelf and Eights Coast. It stretches between 158°W and 103°24'W. The inclusion of the area between the Rockefeller Plateau and Eights Coast is based upon Byrd's exploration. West or Occident is one of the four cardinal directions or points of the compass. It is the opposite direction from east and is the direction in which the Sun sets on the Earth. Morriss Peak
The Denfeld Mountains () are a group of scattered mountains between Crevasse Valley Glacier and Arthur Glacier in the Ford Ranges of Marie Byrd Land. The mountains were explored by the Byrd Antarctic Expeditions (1928–30 and 1933–35) and by the United States Antarctic Service (1939–41) all led by Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd. They were named for Admiral Louis E.
