Frederick Methvan Whyte
Frederick Methvan Whyte (March 2, 1865 – 1941 Athens) was a mechanical engineer of Dutch background who worked for the New York Central Railroad in the United States. He is most widely known as the person who developed Whyte notation to describe the different wheel arrangements of steam locomotives in 1900. In some railroad literature, he is referenced as "F. M. Jack Whyte (March 15, 1940February 22, 2021) was a Scottish-Canadian novelist of historical fiction. Born and raised in Scotland, he moved to Canada in 1967. He resided in Kelowna, British Columbia. Early life Whyte was born in Scotland on March 15th, 1940. He resided there until relocating to Canada in 1967. He was employed at a local school for one year, where he taught English. He subsequently worked as an author, musician, and actor. He and his wife, Beverley, initially lived in Alberta before settling in Kelowna in 1996. Hugh Whyte
Hugh Whyte (24 July 1955 – 9 November 2009) was a Scottish football goalkeeper, who played for Hibernian and Dunfermline Athletic. Whyte, who was born in Kilmarnock, played in the juniors for Hurlford United. Whyte joined Hibernian in 1972 and made five league appearances, but refused to abandon his medical studies when the club asked him to become a full-time professional. He subsequently moved to Dunfermline Athletic in 1976. Dunfermline had been relegated from the First Division in 1975–76 and were unable to sustain full-time football. Whyte established himself as their first choice goalkeeper. Graham Keith Whyte (born 29 March 1952) was a Queensland cricketer in the 1970s and 1980s. He was primarily an off-spinner although also a useful lower-order batsman.
