Whitecaps FC Prospects was a Canadian association football, soccer team based in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. Founded in 2008, the team played in Pacific Coast Soccer League (PCSL), a national amateur league at the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, which features teams from western Canada and the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. The team played its home matches Terry Fox Field on the campus of Simon Fraser University, where they had played since 2008. The team's colours are blue and white. The team was created following the Vancouver Whitecaps FC U-23, Vancouver Whitecaps U-23 team's move from the PCSL to the USL Premier Development League in 2008, and was an official part of the development system for the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Major League Soccer club. SFU Stadium at Terry Fox Field is a multi-purpose sport field on Burnaby Mountain in Burnaby, British Columbia. It serves as the home field of the Simon Fraser University Simon Fraser Red Leafs, Red Leafs for association football, Canadian football (before 2010 season) and American football (from 2010 season to end of program) matches. The Red Leafs men's lacrosse club also plays their home matches on Terry Fox Field, and Simon Fraser University's Department of Recreation and Athletics regularly hosts sport camps on Terry Fox Field. USL League Two (USL2), formerly the Premier Development League (PDL), is a semi-professional soccer league sponsored by United Soccer Leagues in the United States, forming part of the United States soccer league system. Vancouver Whitecaps Football Club is a Canadian professional soccer club based in Vancouver. The Whitecaps compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Western Conference. The MLS iteration of the club was established on March 18, 2009, and began play in 2011 as the 17th team to enter Major League Soccer while replacing the USSF Division 2 team of the same name in the city, making them a phoenix club and the third to carry the Whitecaps name.
