"White as Snow" is the eighth episode of ''Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons'', a British Supermarionation television series created by Gerry Anderson, Gerry and Sylvia Anderson and filmed by their production company Century 21 Productions. Mysteron
The Mysterons are a fictional race of extraterrestrials and the antagonists in the 1960s British Supermarionation television series ''Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons'' (1967–68) and its 2005 animated remake, ''New Captain Scarlet''. The Mysterons in the series are the remnants of the original Mysteron race: alien beings that originated in a galaxy other than the Milky Way and maintained a colony on Mars. George Victor Bishop (June 11, 1932 – June 8, 2005), known professionally as Ed Bishop or Edward Bishop, was an American actor, predominantly based in the UK. Francis Matthews (2 September 1927 – 14 June 2014) was an English actor, best known for playing Paul Temple in the BBC television series of the same name and for voicing Captain Scarlet in '' Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons''. Early life Matthews was born in York on 2 September 1927, to Henry and Kathleen Matthews. His father was a shop steward at the Rowntree's chocolate factory near York. His parents often took him to the theatre, where he gained a love of acting. He attended St George's RC Primary School, then St Michael's Jesuit College in Leeds. Lieutenant Green is a fictional character in the 1960s British Supermarionation television series ''Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons'' and its 2000s animated remake, ''New Captain Scarlet''. In both series, Green serves as the personal assistant to Spectrum commander-in-chief Colonel White, and is shown to be an expert in computer programming and electronics. Captain Blue (born Adam Svenson) is a character in the British Supermarionation television series ''Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons'' (1967–68) and its animated remake, ''New Captain Scarlet'' (2005). He is a senior officer in the Spectrum Organisation, which is committed to defending Earth against the Mysterons, he is also the best friend of Captain Scarlet. Origin and design Captain Blue was among the first characters to be conceived by series creator Gerry Anderson who, having determined that " Scarlet" would make for an unusual codename for the series' protagonist, resolved that his mission partner could be codenamed "Blue". Captain Black is the fictional nemesis of Captain Scarlet (character), Captain Scarlet and the primary, recurring Mysteron agent in the 1960s British Supermarionation television series ''Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons'' and its 2005 animated remake, ''New Captain Scarlet''. "Black" is a codename; in the original series, the character's real name is never revealed (although in tie-ins he is named as Conrad Turner), while in the remake the character's tombstone indicates that his real name is Conrad Lefkon. Spectrum Cloudbase, often shortened to Cloudbase, is the fictional airborne headquarters of the international security organisation Spectrum in Gerry Anderson's science fiction television series ''Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons'' (1967–1968).
