White Transit Company was an Australian bus company operating route bus services on Sydney's Lower North Shore. History Charles Hicks commenced operations on 18 October 1924 with six White buses. It became a public company in 1925. Crows Nest is a suburb on the lower North Shore (Sydney), North Shore of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is also part of the North Sydney region, 5 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district, in the Local government in Australia, local government area of North Sydney Council. History Crows Nest was originally part of a land grant made to Edward Wollstonecraft in 1821. The grant extended from the site of the present day Crows Nest to Wollstonecraft, New South Wales, Wollstonecraft. Edward Wollstonecraft built a cottage, the 'Crow's Nest' and, according to his business partner Alexander Berry, chose the name "on account of its elevated and commanding position". South Mosman ferry wharf is located on the northern side of Sydney Harbour serving the Lower North Shore suburb of Mosman. It is located at the end of Musgrave St, and was known as Musgrave Street Wharf from the 19th century through to the 1990s when the State Government renamed it "Mosman South". Today it is known as South Mosman but many locals still refer to it as Musgrave Street wharf.
