Whitcliffe Mount Grammar School
Whitcliffe Mount School is a Mixed-sex education, mixed secondary school located in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, England. History It was established as Cleckheaton Secondary School in 1908 in temporary premises on Brooke Street. The school moved to its current location in the town in 1910 and was renamed Cleckheaton Secondary and Technical School. Under the Education Act 1944 the school became Whitcliffe Mount Grammar School, and when the school became Comprehensive school, comprehensive in 1973 it was renamed Whitcliffe Mount School. Previously a voluntary controlled school administered by Kirklees Metropolitan Borough Council, in September 2022 Whitcliffe Mount School converted to Academy (English school), academy status. OCR Nationals
OCR Nationals are vocationally related qualifications which were officially launched by the OCR Board in September 2004. The qualifications are designed to meet the needs of those seeking vocational education in place of the traditional, theory-intensive, academic route. Jeffrey Butterfield (9 August 1929 – 30 April 2004) was an England, British and Irish Lions, Yorkshire, Cleckheaton RUFC, Northampton and Barbarians Rugby player and businessman. Education and teaching career Butterfield was educated at Whitcliffe Mount Grammar School, Cleckheaton and Loughborough College, where he took a BSc. in Physical Education in 1951. He later took up a teaching post at Wellingborough Grammar School in Northamptonshire, after which he became a science master at Worksop College. Paul Robert Whitaker (born 28 June 1973) is a former English cricketer who played in England for Hampshire County Cricket Club and briefly in New Zealand for Central Districts. Wendy Holden (born 12 June 1965) is a best-selling British novelist. Holden was born and raised in Cleckheaton, West Riding of Yorkshire.
